Merging it into other departments doesn’t get rid of a damn thing................

Hey, why not? His EPA is already the Anti-Commerce Department. I’m sure he just sees the existence of the original as needless friction.

Added $4 Trillion to the debt

Saves $3 billion over ten years

The devil is in the details.

Exactly! The media won’t report that though, so most people will never know it.

The U.S. is a country containing 300,000,000 gutless sheep that let themselves be lead by the nose by a handful of crooks and by an illegal occupant in the WH. I say this as a U.S. Citizen not living in the States (thank goodness).

The Republic of Panama is a paradise. In spite that many parts of the world are going down the drain, Panama is growing like crazy. There are more jobs than there are people (laborers). As a matter of fact, they are bringing in folks from the outside to help fill the void.

Oh yes, about a year ago a law was passed that joining a labor union was not mandatory and was illegal for the labor crooks to try to make their employees join.

The message is: Tighten your belts and get rid of the cheeky Kenyan bastard and Ms. Hogly. Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you because it is not going to happen. You have to do it yourselves.

He wants what Nixon had and if he gets it it`s game over as hussein will take it to the 10th power and create a Chavez-like State:

President Nixon’s creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which was cobbled together from parts of other federal agencies by executive order, marked the beginning of a regulatory revolution. No other federal agency has ever been created in this fashion. Nixon had first wanted an act of Congress to create a cabinet-level Department of Environment and Natural Resources, but abandoned the plan because of congressional opposition. Others in the Nixon White House thought the new EPA should be more like the National Institute of Health, conducting research and recommending environmental standards and strategies for Congress and the states to incorporate into legislation. But Nixon wanted the EPA to be an operating and enforcement-oriented agency. Ironically, the EPA that emerged is a more powerful agency than a cabinet-level department, because unlike a cabinet department that is more closely under the authority of the White House, the EPA enjoys more independence as an administrative agency.

The lack of congressional deliberation and a specific statutory mission has made the EPA a battleground for the competing views of what “the environment” comprises.

cont`d :

“Not only was the EPA without specific statutory basis but the Nixon reorganization plan that created the agency left the term “environment” undefined. Nixon thought these matters should be left for the EPA’s administrator to decide. “

Cripplecreek, I’m a bit lazy to look it up but I know that the U.S. Bureau of the Census has been a part of the Commerce Department at least since the 1920s or 1930s. Obama didn’t just recently make it a part of the Commerce Department.

President Barack Obama will ask Congress on Friday for authority to close the Commerce Department and create a new export agency, an overhaul that could save US$3-billion and help inoculate him against Republican election-year charges that he is a big-government liberal.

White House budget official Jeffrey Zients told reporters the reorganization would fold together the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and other trade bodies now spread across Washington, giving businesses a single point of contact and ensuring federal spending goes further to boost exports.

1) He can close half a dozen agencies, cut half a trillion out of the budget, and he's still a big government power hungry liberal.

2) He wants to close one department and merge a bunch of agencies, but does anybody here think he would actually shed government jobs? No. It'll just be another huge and bloated bureaucracy. In fact, it'll probably be bigger. Remember when Bush said creating the Department of Homeland Security would save money and improve efficiency? Nearly a decade on, and it's bigger than it ever was, and it's bigger than the sum of its original parts.

NO WAY COMMIE BARRY

we are on to your Alinsky tricks

This is a bait and switch

He is askingCongress to give President authority to change around executive agencies
but Congress can only vote yes or no.

Barry will make his Consumer Protection Racket Board a cabinet level
position.

He JUST non-recess appointed the CPFA director. Unconstitutional.

BARRY THE DICTATOR

Yes he did. It was under the Treasury Dept. until the 2010 census.

No, it wasn’t and I can prove it. Unfortunately, my dial-up connection, always slow, is unbelievably slow now. Once I get that corrected, I’ll look it up.

You could yourself if you wish. You will find that the Commerce Department consists of a bunch of agencies, some of which have only tangential relationships to commerce.

I’ll get back to you, but I know for sure that the Census Bureau, at least in modern times, was never under the Treasury Department.

baraq is proposing to combine the:
US trade representative
US export import bank
Overseas private investment corp
Trade and Devlopment agency
Small business admin
and parts of the commerce dept.

baraq is on a mission to destroy business.
And you bet there will be a czar to run this new agency.
If baraq has this much power, he will be able to further cripple business in this country.
He is NOT looking to combine any other redundant federal agencies. This is just another power grab.
