Perry Loses Key SC Donor To Romney after Attack on Romney

Presidential candidate Rick Perry's criticism of Mitt Romney's business past has cost him the support of a prominent South Carolina Republican.

Investment fund executive and top GOP donor Barry Wynn told The Associated Press Thursday that he's leaving the Perry fold to endorse Romney. Wynn says he was irritated by Perry's attacks on Romney's time at the helm of the private equity firm Bain Capital.

As Wynn put it, "It's like fingernails on the chalkboard."

Perry struck hard this week at Romney's work at Bain Capital. The firm sometimes turned big profits even as companies it invested in went under and people lost their jobs.

By Thursday, Perry had backed away from that line of attack after days of calling Romney a "vulture capitalist."

Newt & Perry’s attacks on capitalism were disgraceful.

I supported Perry more than any other candidate. But I really wonder about his political instincts. He’s all over the place. This was his final stand, and yet he starts out by sounding like some occupy hippie.

I doubt if Perry is worried about it. I’m beginning to think that he’ll be president......in 2016

These were DeMint loyalists...

Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - A group of loyalists to South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint - including a top fundraiser for Rick Perry - will publicly endorse Mitt Romney’s presidential bid on Thursday, a source confirmed to CNN.
Former South Carolina GOP Chairman Barry Wynn, Columbia businessman and fundraiser Peter Brown, and Columbia attorney Kevin Hall will announce their support for Romney Thursday.

“Newt & Perry’s attacks on capitalism were disgraceful.”

There is not attack on capitalism.

Your statement is a total Straw Man argument, or lack thereof.

I used to think it was Romney who was slimy, but now I’m beginning to think it’s Bain.

“...sounding like some occupy hippie.”

That’s what all the Romneybots are saying.

President of what? Texas A&M?

I thought he would run a populist but disciplined campaign and do very well ... instead, he's gone out of his way to insult the conservative electorate.

Capitalism is a means to an end, it can be a force for good, or it can be a force for bad, depending on the motives.

With Perry’s poll number he was probably looking for a reason to jump. Jump straight to the elite gravy train.

Instead of reinforcing their message or explaining why Romney is wrong (Romney comparing himself to DUh-bama gave left an opening), Newt and Perry both shot themelves in the foot when they backed off attack mode...

He seems like an amiable guy with a good heart, and I feel bad for him the way things have turned out in his campaign.

But I think he’d be much better doing the right thing now and saving face, learning from the lessons of this run, and who knows?... there’s always the future.

“...instead, he’s gone out of his way to insult the conservative electorate.”

You’ve been watching too much FoxNews or listening to too much Limbaugh or something.

How is it insulting the conservative electorate to call BS on a corporate raider touting how his stripping other companies “ceates jobs”?

All filty rich millionare “investment” azzholes love Romney. They all do the exact same thing he does. They destroy others lives so they can make themselves richer. They do not build up companies and try to help out failing companies. The fire every person that works there and hire new people. They are the lowest of the low. Filthy rich baztards who have gotten filthy rich by destroying others. I have no use at all for this type of “capitalism”. It is called VULTURE capitalism, and that is exactly what it is.
They are all a bunch of VULTURES, as low as snake in the grass.
