Everything the liberals touch turns to crap.
Parents, if you love your kids get them out of the government schools.

The government schools throw the headbangers into “scream rooms” because they aren’t allowed to bar them from the school outright. Next, they won’t even be allowed to remove them from classrooms.

schools get more money the more disabled kids they enrole. One of the reasons teachers are so quick to label a kid as having ADD
You're absolutely right. I just wish ADD was the kids' only problem.

God Bless your daughter-in-law, someone's got to do it, and I know I sure couldn't!
No, I couldn't do it either and now, neither is my DIL.
She was laid off in July of last year and is now on unemployment.

They should do the sane thing and expel violent children if they don’t have the capacity to heal the kid. They should not add to the abuse.

I trust the integrity of public schools as much as I trust the integrity of Stalin’s regime. Too many are abusive, amoral and mean bullies enjoying a power trip. Follow teacher uions members around the Internet a bit and you will see what I mean. I would not let many of them take care of my cats let alone my children. Too many taboos governing adult interaction with children have been erased.

Public schools, because too many radical twisted freaks have moved in with dominance, are now dangerous to the well being of kids and families. They are like mental institutions or prisons lording over their inmates.

I agree with you.I have an online friend who is a special ed teacher and has been for about 30 years.Over the past 10 or more years she says that she has went from being able to teach kids who could be taught to being forced to spend the same amount of time each day with kids who basically have the intellect of an infant and their parents expect her to teach them something. She calls herself an overly paid babysitter since 70% of her day is now wasted on kids that will never be able to hold a pencil let alone be able to recognize a letter or write it.

She calls herself an overly paid babysitter ...
Even worse, too many of these kids need assistance (some one on one) and school districts have been forced to hire classroom aides to accomplish this.
Another hidden reason why school budgets have exploded.

I agree with you on some points.

I've been on FR since 1996, reg repub, have teaching degree myself & wife has been spec ed teacher entire life; we are very conservative people.

Time out rooms work like this: Kid goes in screaming, swearing, kicking the padded walls. Kid then starts crying, kid then starts begging. Kid then talks about their actions with teacher and once kid realizes he shouldn't/can't live this way in society; back into classroom he goes. Happens over and over everyday all across America. We can't turn these kids into the streets. Parents aren't parenting, so our Nation's schools & teachers are forced to do it. Teachers hate it as much as anybody; just the way our country is going, sad.

Please, spare us the hysterics. You make the public school system sound like a Charles Dicken's novel.
As bad as some teachers, schools, principals, and administrators may be individually, public schools in general are NOTHING like you claim.
Quite frankly, you sound like you're making all this up to justify something.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, they are **that** bad and have been since their beginnings in the mid-1800s to early 1900s. Why?

—Socialist-entitlement schooling is the very definition of socialism. Simply by attending children risk learning that government and the voting mob has enormous power to take money from a neighbor to give them tuition-free schooling. Well?..Gee!...If government and the voting mob can give them tuition free schooling, why not **lots** of socialist goodies. It only took one to three generations of socialist K-12 schooling to produce the socialist Franklin D. Roosevelt for **four** terms!

—While the earliest of the modern socialist schools forced a generic and lukewarm Protestantism on the nation's children, today's socialist K-12 schools are utterly godless in their worldview. Just to cooperate in the classroom, read the textbooks, and turn in assignments the child must think and reason godlessly. How could it be otherwise? ( By the way, what does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth!)

—Government socialist schooling trashes every First Amendment Right of the child and ( indirectly) the parents, and the voting mob forces the citizen to pay for this abomination. While in his socialist school, and increasingly even outside it, the child's right to free speech, free press, free assembly and association, and exercise of his religion is vigorously suppressed by government functionaries. By attending, he risks learning to be a compliant little slave to the socialist state. Children who **rationally** rebel against being treated like a prisoner and refuse to attend are hunted down by truant officers, and even armed police, and they and their parents face expensive court appearances and even real hard-prison time.

—It is impossible to have a religiously, culturally, and politically neutral worldview and this is true for education. When government owns and runs schools it establishes the religious, cultural, and political worldview of the most powerful political factions, and trashes those of the less well connected.

—In many ways, government treats children ( whose only crime was being born) like prisoners. It is government who orders children when to assemble and with whom. It controls their speech. It regulates when and what they can eat, rest, exercise, and even use the bathroom. It's buildings look like minimum security prisons, and the exercise yards could be mistaken for that of any prison. The kids are driven about in buses that look like prison work gang buses.

—Yes, it is still possible to escape the socialist schools but parents must pay **ransom** or **jizya** to do so. In my county, there are NO private schools because the price-fixed government cartel has priced its tuition at “free” and created a hostile business climate for the creation of private schooling. If private CEOs colluded to price-fix a market they would soon be in prison. Down on the Animal Farm, price-fixing government school bureaucrats live in the farmer's house. Price-fixing CEOs get prison. OINK!

Finally, Marxists and homosexuals have infiltrated every level of teacher training, curriculum development, union leadership, and administration. Government schools are, now sooooooo evil, in my opinion, that I have made a personal decision:

I WILL NOT HAVE A GOVERNMENT TEACHER FOR A FRIEND!

Personally, I seriously doubt that our nation can survive another generation of children being indoctrinated in our nation's socialist schools. I believe it is **that** serious! Government teachers are either too evil, too stupid, too much of a Useful Idiot, or worship their paycheck and pension more than their Christian faith, to be my friend. That's my personal decision.

Why would God save a nation that does the following:

—Murders its babies in the womb, some having their skulls crushed just seconds before their first breath?

—Sends its precious children into schools where they must think and reason godlessly just cooperate in the classroom?

At least the murdered babies fly directly into the arms of Jesus. Those children who attend government schools risk sad consequences that are lifelong and even eternal.

Government teachers

The laws that require all children being mainstreamed is the reason there are scream rooms in schools and enormous classroom disruptions. Many of the stories seen on MSM are stories about kids who would never had been allowed in a regular school thirty years ago.

The reason police are often involved is because of the level of brokenness and out of control behaviors of some of these kids. These are the kids who have six to eight adults holding them down when they are admitted to mental hosptials. Because they are so dangerous/difficult/out of control.

Mentally ill and mentally handicapped kids deserve better. So do regular kids. The G&T kids and the Honors kids get out of dealing with this garbage in highschool.

Get the mainstreaming laws changed and bring back separate schools and residential facilities for these kids. Regular kids will have better educations and these kids will have the care they need.

Hey, my younger sister is a special ed teacher, too. She is special in the patience, creativity and good will department. You wife is probably the same.

Actually, schools are outdated herd formats that don’t work in this era. OBVIOUSLY - they are not working anymore. But no school should keep an uncontrolable, violent child in the building. There are schools for delinquent children and that is better than turning the whole school into a prison with armed guards or mental institution with padded rooms.

I don’t trust public school officials nor teachers to decide such matters. Schools have changed a lot since my sister began her career and she’s appauled at the lack of love, wisdom and soul. She says they have devolved. I could not beleive what happened in our upper middle class high school. We paid for the best in our town. We go psychos with no brakes. My sister guided me through the process of nailing them.

Not enough info to go on. But... if the teachers have no option to enforce a child to listen during class without disrupting it, and are left with the “time out” room, then that is what they have to work with. I tend to agree with your assessment that “they don’t belong in the classroom” where they only hinder other children. Every paddling I received in public school I deserved (except a fight that I didn’t start), it reinforced the rules. When I cheated on a spelling test and got caught, I got my butt busted. I deserved it, it helped.
