Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head last Jan. 8, but the White House is downplaying the likelihood of any White House campaign-trail effort to restrict gun ownership.
“I don’t have anything new for you,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said Thursday when asked about the anniversary. “It’s a solemn occasion. … It’s a remarkable recovery that Congresswoman Giffords has made, but we can never forget the lives lost on that day,” he added.
President Barack Obama’s poll ratings are low, especially in swing-states, and he’s shown no willingness to publicly challenge or antagonize gun-owners or other critical swing-voting blocs.
For more than a decade, Democratic officials have sidelined numerous calls by allied activist groups for new curbs on guns. The shift followed the Democrats’ defeat in the 2000 presidential election, when gun-rights activists helped Vice-President Al Gore lose his home state of Tennessee to then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush.
In the days after Giffords shooting, numerous Democratic activists tried to pin the blame on Republicans, including former Gov. Sarah Palin, and also demanded new curbs on gun ownership.
The gunman was eventually identified as Jared Lee Loughner, and his friends later described him as a drug-using conspiracy theorist who also hated former President George W. Bush.
Loughner killed six people and wounded thirteen, including Giffords when he shot her in the head at close range.
White House has been reduced to something out of the movie “Idiocracy.”
Gun sales are up 16% over last year in our state - Obama doesn’t want to kick that hornet’s nest before the election. If he gets 4 more ...... look out.
Ms. Giffords certainly did not deserve the devastating attack on her by a maniac that her liberal friends fawn over!!! But....IMHO, the voters of her congressional district also do not deserve an absentee congresswoman representing them. She is not capable of returning to congress effectively and should resign or choose not to run for office in 2012.
As for her husband, a man I call the NASA turncoat, he is only interested in his own power and greed!!! He said not one word as POTUS Barack Hussein Obama destroyed the NASA manned space program costing thousands of skilled jobs. He and Obama are simply A1, “dirt bags” of the lowest life.
Thank the Lord in heaven their book flopped miserably. Pray for him and his wife. They both need it!!!

I agree with you almost 100%!!! Where I disagree, just a little, is that this selfish woman and her “dirt bag” husband only care for themselves, much in the same manner of America hater Michelle & Barack Hussein Obama. If the voters in her district re-elect her, they are fools and idiots from the word go!!!
Personally, I think “Fast and Furious” speaks volumes. The Obama regime will do anything short of out right confiscation to push gun control. Murder certainly doesn’t seem to bother them.

I have no doubt!!! They are so smug and arrogant, they think their actions can remain hidden....but they underestimate us ordinary folks.
