I'm always a little put off by the phrase "family values." It's not that I don't believe in them; I just don't believe that the people who use the phrase every five minutes have any monopoly on defining what family values are.
A lot of these people are conservative Christians. They seem to think that the rest of us are all in favor of destroying family values. Now, some people want to destroy their personal families, but not because they don't like the values - it's just that their families are not the value-oriented kind. NB: This has nothing to do with religion.
Other people don't want to have families, in the sense of having children. That's great; probably better for the planet anyway. But that's not because they dislike the values; it's because they dislike or can't afford children or both. People having children they don't want: bad for the family. For this reason, it seems as if contraception might be considered as one of the family values.
We're all stuck in unintentional families because we didn't pick our parents. Nevertheless, thanks to sundry family values, we make it through. So I might say that tolerance is a family value. We should be open-minded about how other people in your family lead their lives and not take concerted legal action against them. There's a family value.
So contraception and tolerance are two identified family values. We can already see that those who expostulate so freely on values may not even possess them.

But you already knew that.
“San Francisco values are not family values.
But you already knew that. “
Precisely.
No one gives a smelly Obama about SF.
"There are values that are values because someone values them. We must be tolerant both of family values and of non-family values. One can value being in a family, or not being in a family." Etc. etc. ad nauseum.
Regards,
People should not have children id they don’t want and cannot afford to support them.
Well, with a first name of a Swedish Swooshy and the last name of a girl, I can see why you think the way you do...
A SF LIB talking about (mocking) family values is like an atheist claiming to be a biblical scholar. First off, he has no idea what he’s talking about and in the second place, is so full of himself that he doesn’t care.
I’m convinced that the country would be a much better place if we could saw off the SF peninsula and set it adrift somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
Somewhere far away from here.
You hit on a great point. You can, surprisingly, tell a lot about a person by their name. Especially hyphenated ones.
But I think I got the gist of it from the few putrid paragraphs you posted.
What’s an unintentional family?
