German Volcano Could Devastate Europe (ticking tectonic timebombs could wreak havoc globally)
Yahoo ^ | 1/3/12 | Charles Simmins

Posted on 01/04/2012 1:30:50 PM PST by NormsRevenge

The Daily Mail stirs up some Euro anxiety with a headline today "Is a super-volcano just 390 miles from London about to erupt?" The story talks about the little known Laacher See volcano in northwestern Germany. It last erupted about 12,000 years ago and the Daily Mail believes it is due to erupt again.

It is not considered extinct, merely inactive. An eruption of the Laacher See volcano would destroy much of Europe as we know it. London is 390 miles away. The German capital of Bonn is about 25 miles away.

The potential eruption of the Laacher See volcano is not the only geologic threat to the industrialized nations.

Well, at least that would be the end of Eurabia. But, then, where would the Mohammedans go to escape the consequences of their evil cult? Perhaps they could move the volcanoe to Turkey near the Iraq border....Germans being clever engineers and all..

The German capital of Bonn…
The German capital is Berlin, not Bonn. And if that volcano is going to nuke Brussels, too, losing Bonn will be an acceptable sacrifice.

Seriously, there was a movie on German TV about a volcano erupting in Germany and ever since a lot of Germans seem to wish it was true for some reason. My joke was that it was near Koengen by Stuttgart...like as in King Koengen, but these folks are really that bored and boring!

Bonn is still the German capitol? I thought they moved back to Berlin after reunification.

In days past, the Germans would have used it as an excuse to conquer lebensraum somewhere else. Drang nach osten!

Shhh! Don't tell the East Germans that they have been secretly deunified. Also don't pay attention to that little bit of masonry being built through Berlin.

BTW - What happened to the super volcano under Yellowstone. You couldn’t go long without hearing how doomed we all were. Now I can’t remember the last time I heard it mentioned. Did it just go away? Did it move to Germany? Was it made up?

Maybe Yellowstone will blow at the same time, then we will no longer need to worry about what our country is becoming.

This is just a hit mongering post. The WEST EIFEL VOLCANIC FIELD is a volcanic naught. Doesn’t even make the large eruption list which starts at VEI 4. Supervolcanos start at VEI 8 and up. Mt. St. Helens was a VEI 5.

The German capital is Berlin, not Bonn.

You can't blame the reporter, Berlin has only been the capital of Germany for ages./SAR

Doesn't the stupidity of so called journalists amaze you? It does me.
