“... we will all be thrown into jail...”
Can you imagine the mayhem that would result with a bunch of FReepers in one location?!
As much as I have enjoyed computers since I first discovered them 25 years ago, I’ve come to the sad realization that it is the power of the computer that will transform “Orwellian totalitarianism” from a vision of one author into a realized system of rule.
“Big Brother” (as prescient as Orwell’s ideas were in the late 1940’s) could not keep his eye on everyone. But “Big Computer” can.....
Is there a way out of this? Yes, but it would involve going back to typewriters and wall telephones.
Perhaps the Amish, with their obsession of using only that technology which won’t disrupt their value system, have it right....
I am sure they are watching me if these are the words that trigger such things...there was an outbreak of a fatal horse illness a while back and it was a big topic of discussion on FB for sure- likely the words “human to animal” were used at least a few times in questions. As for the word illegal, yes I confess to using that word...but not with the word immigrant so maybe... Yep we are all going to be on the “watch” list. Since I live on the border I am already on the watch list I am sure.
Does anyone think they are only scanning FB and Twitter? I bet some employees are assigned to read FR and other sites as well.
Wow that is weird.................
Government employees are monitoring Free Republic? Nawwww....that’s what they tell their bosses. They’re really looking at porn.
Of course it is. And in the arrest warrants given to the media will be our FR handle and a sampling of "extreme" postings like quoting the Founding Fathers or expressing support for the 2nd Amendment.
“”Can you imagine the mayhem that would result with a bunch of FReepers in one location?!””
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Do we get to pick the location? I want to meet all you folks in person.
We at least have God and Jim Rob on our side.
FR probably has the distinction of being the first on the list.

It works for us better than it does for them. They can’t get away from their words - they’re archived for posterity. UNTIL of course, they take our computers away from us. At any rate, I think there are more of us!
‘human to animal’
Okkkkk, what is DHS looking for THERE? Do i want to know? I’m assuming it’s got to be Muslims looking for their favorite porn?
Somewhere...on the list they DID’NT publish...is “Constitutional”...”Lberty” ...”Founding Fathers”....Judeo-Christian”...”Second Amendment”...”Freedom”...”Jefferson”...”Adams”...”Madison”...”Washington”....”Paine”.....
Something else weird - I typed in “National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)” at google. The search box flashed a couple times, the searches came up, the box went blank and then “National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)” flashed back into the box.
They’re baaaack.
Happy New Year to you, too! Yes... we will have God and Jim Rob on our side (plus I’ll sneak in some “adult beverages” for us as well) LOL!!!
There are possibly over 150 million people on FB and over 100 million that activly post and over 70 million that havew said things about our govt. Do you think the govt is going to go aftert all of them and that everyone who sues FR will truly end up in jail forever ? The NDAA 2012, again, doesnt give the govt new powers with regard to US citizens and doesnt turn our current administration into a regime.

Reminds me of that time a couple of friends and I snuck into the Pentagon lunch room with a dirty nuclear bomb in a suitcase, but decided at the last minute not to set it off. And we had loads of anthrax in our lunch boxes. And did I mention the assault weapons we had?
Or am I thinking of a Stalone movie I saw?
You can actually say pretty much anything you want on the internet. They’ll read my post and ignore it, for obvious reasons. However, if I were a “real” terrorist, what better way to hide my tracks than to post this stuff to get them to not take me seriously.
Reminds me of the old list of instructions to police officers to identify suspicious people. A couple of funny ones:
1. They are ignoring you.
2. They are paying attention to you.
Words like “bomb” and such may cause them to scrutinize your posts, but it takes context for it to mean a darned thing. And even then what it mainly does is allow them to make a determination regarding whether to investigate “further”.
Personally, I have strong belief in the phrase “barking dogs never bite”. But we know that with both dogs AND humans, both barking and non-barking dogs DO bite, and many of both don’t bite. So chest pounding on the internet must always be taken with a grain of salt and scrutinized for “meat”. They certainly cannot investigate every person who says something “mean”.
And only what is said in a court of law has any substance, unless it is being used as evidence in an actual crime of which one is being accused.
But ultimately it comes to this sage political advice for those who DO have dirty hands:
Never write down what you can say.
Never say what you can whisper.
Never whisper what you can nod.
Never nod what you can wink.
Never wink what you can smile.
Interestingly, the government can REQUIRE a company to save all emails, but can’t do a darned thing about water cooler discussions. People need to remember this when having “water cooler” discussions on the internet. Their every word (including mine here) is a permanent record that can be used against them in a court of law.
Sorry this is a bit rambling.
Because I am a contractor and change jobs often, I am VERY careful of what I put on Facebook, if anything at all.
..In the event of the TSA roundup, we will all be thrown into jail without specific charges other than thought crimes, hate crimes and offenses against the regime.<<
Well, since I use Wi-Fi hot spots, it’s gonna be rather difficult (though not impossible). I am STILL trying to get internet to my farm in central Kentucky.
