Jimmy Hoffa’s Driver Says He Was Buried In Cement Foundations Of GM Headquarters
Pat Dollard ^ | 12/25/11 | Daily Mail

Posted on 12/25/2011 10:43:02 PM PST by Nachum

The disappearance of Teamsters union boss Jimmy Hoffa remains one of America’s most enduring mysteries.

But now, nearly four decades after Hoffa vanished, his driver has claimed he knows where he is buried – and how he got there.

Marvin Elkind said Hoffa was killed by a mob enforcer and buried in the foundations of the towering General Motors’ HQ in Detroit, Michigan.

‘It was his own people who did it,’ Mr Elkind said in excerpts of a new book published in the New York Post, adding Mafia member Tony Jack insinuated he was responsible.

When I was was workin for an outfit whose only client was Central States Teamsters,( our offices were in the same building) I had a bumper sticker that asked “Hey Fitz,Where's Jimmy?”
I was ‘gently’ asked to either remove the sticker or not drive that car to work mo more.I did neither.

The movie Hoffa presents an inaccurate picture of Hoffa's disappearance. It shows the final meeting place as a truck stop road house in the middle of nowhere.

The restaurant was actually the Machus Red Fox, located on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills, one of Detroit's most prestigious suburbs.

I never saw the movie because I knew it would be bad that way. So, does this story make it complete? Can we now point to every major Detroit construction project in the ‘70’s and say someone claims Hoffa’s buried there? It’s been freeways, sports venues, buildings...all involving concrete.

Marvin Elkind needs money in his dotage and is trying to flog his memoirs.

Let’s please keep that in mind. He’d probably claim Hoffa was kidnapped by a war party from Omicron Persi’i IV if he thought it would sell.

Hoffa was snuffed all right and I really don’t give a damn where they dumped him.

I read once that his body was stuffed in a 55 gallon drum and filled with concrete. Then the drum was taken by boat to somewhere in the Atlantic near Bimini in the Bahamas and sunk in thousands of feet of water. Only God knows for sure.......

I figured these wise-guys were smart enough to truck the drum out west and blow it to bits with dynamite in the desert. That’s what my 17-year-old mind thought at the time, anyway...but Bimini’s good, too.

Yep. The most corrupt company I have ever had the "honor" to work with. I have worked all over the world in the most corrupt companies. GM in Michigan gets the ultimate award.

I had a project to certify the GM engine Lansing plant in the late 80s. Specifically the firewater loop was not in code. In fact it was a mess. I was told to make the certification right by the local union reps. They made me an offer and believe it or not "Bruno" from Chicago was going to come up and make it official. I walked away. Lost a lot of money on that engineering project.

Funny. I went to the middle east to work afterwards. I just had to pay for dinner there to get an honest contract. FUBO from the late 80s on.

I have the REAL story. I worked in a GM facility just outside of Detroit that was also being built when Hoffa disappeared. My office had a body sized spot on the floor that would regularly “bleed” through the carpet. We called it “Jimmy”. I would call Maintenance when ever the spot became too dark and tell them “Jimmy is trying to get out, again”. They would dutifully come over and clean the carpet.

The simplest theory is probably the best here. Hoffa was killed somewhere in the Detroit area after being kidnapped from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township. He’s not under the end zone at Giant’s Stadium. He’s not buried off the coast of Bermuda, Bahamas, or any other Atlantic location. There’s no way anyone would transport his body that distance just to dispose of it. He’s probably not in the foundations of the GM building either.

Most likely, they took his body up north (where I’m from and where - especially in the ‘70s - the region was sparsely populated and the roads were empty) and buried it on a farm somewhere. At it’s most creative, he could have been loaded on a boat near Detroit, taken out into Lake St. Clair or Lake Huron and dumped.

I doubt reality is as complicated as folks would fantasize it would be.

Mob hits are not complicated or driven by passion. Double tap, little ride in a trunk and you're removed from the face of the earth. Most murder victims are killed by someone they know, some sources say as high as 80%. The passions or complications of their relationships usually lead to the suspect.

Frank Fitzsimmons. He was suppose to keep the Teamsters president seat warm until Hoffa returned.
Fitz liked being president and worked with Nixon to get Hoffa barred from returning. Hoffa disappeared July 1975 and Fitz was reelected June 76

"I read once that his body was stuffed in a 55 gallon drum and filled with concrete."

At a guess at 250 pounds, there would be 50 gallons of Jimmy, and 5 gallons of cement. This wouldn't reliably sink.

At 250 pounds and at 0.80 water by composition, Jimmy was about 200 pounds of water. A gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds. So the water in Jimmy was equal to about 23.98 gallons or less than half the volume of a 55 gallon drum. If we figured that Jimmy was 50% fat, then this means that his non-fat body mass (a density of 1.1 X that of water) was equal to his fat mass (a density of 0.90 X that of water). The two together would make for a density of 1.0 (125 X 1.1 + 125 X 0.9)/250 = 1), that is, equal to water.

Jimmy's total volume wouldn't be more than a little more than about half the volume of the 55 gallon drum. Say that he took up as much space as 30 gallons of water, that would leave space for 25 gallons of concrete. A gallon of concrete is about 17.97 pounds. 25 gallons of concrete will weigh 449.25 pounds. That, plus 250 pounds of Jimmy's weight, equal 639 pounds. So 55 gallons containing 250 pounds of Jimmy and 449.25 pounds of concrete has a density of 1.52 (12.71 pounds per gallon /8.34 pounds per gallon). Consider that a 55 gallon drum filled with water (at a density of 1.0) will readily sink because the drum weighs about 40 pounds. Jimmy's drum fill with Jimmy and concrete at a density of 1.52 plus the 40 pounds of steel is going to go down pretty fast.

Your analysis assumes Jimmy was either freeze dried, or some other means was used to remove the water. That would be quite a feat. I vote for the spot on my floor.

Your analysis assumes Jimmy was either freeze dried, or some other means was used to remove the water. That would be quite a feat. I vote for the spot on my floor.

What in the world are you talking about freeze drying? A chunk of a person's body is about 80% water. Non-fat body mass is 1.1 times the density of water. Fat mass is 0.9 times the density of water. The average density of a person that is 50% body fat (and there's no way in the world Jimmy was 50% body far--I know because I've had people in a metabolic study of mine who were 50% body fat), is 1.0, the same as water. If a 250 pound Jimmy Hoffa was 50% body fat, he would be, pound for pound, as dense as water. If a person is as dense as water, this means that his total volume is not going to differ from the total volume of an equal weight of water. So a 250 pound man with a body composition of 50% lean body mass and 50% fat mass equaling a body density of 1.0 is going to take up as much volume as 250 pounds of water which also has a density of 1.0.

A gallon of water weighs about 8.34 pounds. A 55 gallon drum will contain (8.34 X 55) 458.7 pounds of water. 250 pounds of dead Jimmy at a density of 1, same as water, will be equal to (250lb/8.34lb/gallon) about 30 gallons. Fill the remaining space in the drum, 25 gallons, with concrete. Concrete weighs about 150 pounds per cubic foot. A gallon of water weighs about 8.34 pounds. A cubic foot of water contains about 7.5 gallons of water or 62.55 pounds of water. A gallon of concrete, therefore, weighs 150/62.55 or 2.4 times a gallon of water. So the remaining 25 gallons filled with concrete will weigh 25 (the number of gallons) X 8.34 (the pounds per gallon of water) X 2.4 (the multiplier for concrete compared to water) or about 500 pounds. Jimmy, at 250 pounds, plus the 500 pounds of concrete that could fit in the remaining volume of a 55 gallon drum, would equal 750 pounds. 55 gallons of water equal 458.7 pounds. A 55 gallon drum of water will sink because the drum itself weighs about 40 pounds. So the density of a 55 gallon drum filled with water has a density a little over one (498.7/458.7= ~1.09). It will sink. A 55 gallon drum containing a 250 pound Jimmy and the remaining volume filled with concrete would weigh about 750 pounds. The density of this compared to that of a water-filled drum is about 1.5 (750/498.7= 1.503).

If a 55 gallon drum of water will sink, then a 55 gallon drum with 1.5 times the density will sink with no problem at all.
