What the Republican establishment is really afraid of is not Newt Gingrich’s personality or baggage, but a campaign about conservative ideas.

Laughable. Pathetic. Absurd. An insult to everyone's intelligence.

Whether or not Newt has conservative ideas, whether on not he's really going to act on those ideas, and whether or not the "establishment" is afraid of them, it's his personality and his baggage that are uppermost in people's minds, whether "establishment" or not.

Richard Viguerie is pushing this angle because he sees a way to get contributions and influence out of it. If Newt's elected and turns out to be a bust for conservatives, then Vigurie will start exploiting that to keep his operation going.

Newt supported the bailouts, Medicare Part D, the individual mandate, Cap and Trade, the Department of Education and Freddie Mac in no way represents true conservatism.

“Newt is another RINO”

You are right, of course... Newt is not really a Republican, he’s a Constitutionalists, perhaps a Tea Party Candidate.

Republicans don’t care any more for the Constitution than the Democrats do.

Best in debate against Obama? Posted on December 13, 2011

Best in debate against Obama?

A majority of Americans think Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich would fare best in a head-to-head television debate against President Barack Obama. In a Poll Position national scientific telephone survey, 54% said Gingrich would give Obama the best debate, 20% thought Mitt Romney would do the best. All other GOP candidates received single digit votes when asked how they would fare against Obama in a TV debate.

Excuse me, but that’s a rather stupid point... What in the Constitution supports ANY of the laws and policies that come out of Washington?

Other than Ron Paul who’s a nut case, it seems that Newt is the only candidate that has studied it.

Newt is another RINO, I will not vote for him!

There are a lot of FReepers that won't vote for Newt, and many have valid, rational reasons, but in your case either you have no clue of the meaning of RINO or no clue as to what Newt has done for the past deveral decades.

Newt may be a lot of things. RINO ain't one of them.

The plan is to get Obama re-elected. That will be achieved by running RINOS for Republican candidates. The top echelons of the Republican party are in their hearts moderate to liberal. Newt is not even close to Ronald Reagan. And Newt is no Tea Party conservative.

Your talking points are old and tired, noob, and they have been dissected 1,000,00 times on FR and elsewhere.

Rather than reinvent the wheel and teach you and every noob their “ABCs” every time you guys magically appear, I suggest you should simply research counter-arguments to your tired, misleading, defeated charges.

Who alive has done more for the Conservative movement than Newt Gingrich? Answer that question.
