Newt Gingrich is drawing fire for arguing that Palestinians are an "invented" people. In an interview with The Jewish Channel, Gingrich said, "Remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think that we've had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community."
Palestinian Authority chief negotiator Saeb Erakat described Gingrich's comment as "the most racist statement I've ever seen." So not only do the Palestinians want a state but now they want to be a race unto themselves, too?
Two of Mitt Romney's surrogates also criticized Gingrich's comments although not for their accuracy. Mary Kramer, a former Iowa State Senator who later served as Ambassador to Barbados said, "I'm not sure that statement gets us any closer to accomplishing an agenda." Meanwhile, Iowa State Representative Renee Schulte, a co-chair of Romney's Iowa campagin, said, "Governor Romney is much more discplined in his approach and much more thoughtful about the things he says." Perhaps Schulte was referring to the time when Romney said the U.S. could learn about diplomacy from Hezbollah. But I digress.

You would think that in covering the story one might at least ask the question "Is this true?" Haven't seen that question asked today.
Yeah, but like certain other things he’s also wrong although it may not be as explicit: his campaign organization said also in favor of of some sort of Palestinian state which always spells, “Death to Israel.”
That seldom happens because truth means very little to liberals and their media.

I have no problem with any group of people seeking recognition as a state ~ unless they propose carving off a chunk of my state then I think they should die.

Reminded me of when reagan got in and told Sec. of State Haig to veto te Law of the Sea treaty and other PC UN nonsense. It’s never too late.

These misguided people would have had their state long ago if not for the militancy that has been inbreed into them.

Fox News has been bashing Newt all day today. It has been absolutely a day of ignorance on “America’s News” on Fox this afternoon. Greg “Whathisname” even had the gall to offer that Atty. Gen. Holder has not lied about “Fast and Furious” while speaking to Judge Jennine. The Judge says “Greg, you have got to be kidding”!
And if the huge amounts of US and international aid stopped flowing, they would self destruct and go home before you could think twice about it. So who’s really messing up the ‘peace’ process..

What creates “a people” is a shared experience.

Well, there is such a thing as a Palestinian, but only in reference to people who lived in a specific region. There never was, of course, a nation or a kingdom known as Palestine.
It’s akin to saying folks from the central Great Lakes region of the United States, extended out a few states, are Midwesterners. That is true; they are. But that does not mean Midwesterners are a national entity, or a race, or anything other than people who live in a certain geographic area.
And Palestine, as a geographic area, was, historically, the area that comprised the areas of present day southern Lebanon, southwest Syria; Jordan, Israel, and Gaza. As a racial people, they are all Semitic. They are all from the same genetic stock, but different tribes.
So, perhaps a contemporary analogy of the “Palestininan Issue” would be as if Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota picked a fight with Illinois, and said Illinois is illegitimate, and must be destroyed. As a racial people they are...well, they are pretty much anything and everything. As a geographic people, though, they are all Midwesterners.

So-called Palestinians are in fact, Arab refugees from previous wars against Israel and Jordan ... Palestinians were ousted by Jordan in 1971.
In 135 AD, Roman Emperor Hadrian, renamed Israel, “Palestina” (later shortened to Palestine ) to eradicate its Jewish connection, and for centuries, Bible maps and Christian literature have reflected this Roman invention, but God never called Israel, Palestine.
Prior to the birth of Israel in 1948, both Jews and Arabs in the land were called, “Palestinians.”
Gingrich has made the cardinal p.c. sin of telling the truth. Once the libs declare something to be true, i.e. the Jews kicked the “Palestinians” out of their country, then it has to true. Except it never was true.
There is no better proof of this than the fact that the Muslims claimed Mohammed (p!ss be upon him!) "ascended into heaven" at the very site of the Old Hebrew Temple and built their "Dome of the Rock" there to contaminate the sacred Jewish site.
