AMHERST - Winning the endorsement of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Tuesday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry echoed his stance on illegal immigration today in the Granite State, saying he would support a federal law to "detain and deport every illegal alien that we apprehend."
During a morning campaign stop at Joey’s Diner, the presidential candidate said he would end the current catch-and-release policy that cuts loose nonviolent illegal immigrants.
Calling the policy "horrific," Perry said the future of America depends on the security of its borders. If elected, Perry said that one year after his inauguration the border with Mexico would be secure, with thousands of National Guard troops deployed and strategic fencing in high traffic areas.
“It is a federal responsibility to secure the borders,” Perry told a crowd of breakfast customers and members of the Amherst Republican Committee. The candidate said there is a need for full-time surge at the border.

Perry will Detain every Illegal Alien and hold them public university at the tax payers expense and deport them upon graduation.
Huh? He wants to detain and deport every illegal, yet he also wants to give them subsidized college tuition? Makes no sense.
In other news, Perry finally came down on stopping at stop lights. It was a tough decision.
Hell, another fifteen years and I may back Perry. I’ve got to give it some study...

Where’s his heart? (snicker) But seriously, Perry tries just a little too hard to be a tough guy. The comments in his ad about cutting Congress’s pay and sending them home is over the top too for some parts of the country.

I think if you check this policy you mention is the same policy that GW had in place in Texas as gov.

How about we cane (starting with three swats) them and then export them back to their home country? Every time they show back up they get an extra swat before being sent home.
Our candidates let the media hornswaggle them by bringing up the question of deportation.
What many want to do is cut the taxpayer funded bennies and enforce existing law.
If that happened and the border was secure, many would self deport.

And I find Cain’s financially strapped accusers more credible than either Romney or Perry. But not by much.

I don’t care what his past is, he is a conservative guy. My only fault with him is his selecting to stand behind foreigners over Americans.

Perry has allowed illegals to invade Texas.
Only Pat Buchanan has been consistent on illegal immigration correctly figuring out this is a foreign invasion. Pat has written about this for 15 years.

Anyway Pat Buchanan has the best positions on illegal immigration and on China. Pat is miles ahead of ANYONE on these issues and others. Pat is brilliant. Read his books then you’ll see.

Impose tariffs on China; end World Bank loans
Beijing does not deserve the same preferential treatment as Britain. The US should negotiate a reciprocal treaty with China that imposes on its goods at least the same tariffs and taxes Beijing imposes on ours, and we should veto any additional World Bank and Asian Development Bank loans to China. These are nothing but foreign aid.
If he hadn’t gone out is way and fanatically opposed fence, e-verify and calling us heartless for not supporting tuition discounts, I might believe him.

Perry is the three inch Perch on the cutting board. He flip flops non-stop, and you find it very hard to pin him down to throw him back. Then he jumps out of the water and you have to start all over.

Sounds good, but so do most things politicians say when running for office.
Perry is currently tied with Ron Paul in the RCP polling averages. He is scrambling to become relevant before he drops below Paul, something that would start the fat lady singing for his campaign.

Not only do we have to pay for their health care, housing, court/ jail/prison cost, but education K-12, and have to dumb down OUR schools for them, we also pay for their food, which exceeds what we provide our own Senior Citizens who have not seen a COLA raise in nearly 3 years they get $10-30 a month in food stamps IF THEY QUALIFY! make $1 to much or have more than a few dollars in the bank and you won't qualify, but an ILLEGAL INVADER WILL!
Senior's are having to deal with the OBAMA DEPRESSION/INFLATION on the same income they had 3 years ago. and are digging into what ever savings they have to survive.
I see the Commodity line once a month at our community center, and the number of "frail elderly" seniors who can barely walk, mostly women, has tripled in the past 3 years. All for a few can of fruit and veggies, because that $10-30 in food stamps is not worth the hassle of obtaining. These are not people 'faking' it, most look like a strong wind would blow them over, they are well into their 80's or up.
It makes sense if you separate federal from state level decisions. Since the federal government has refused to deal with this issue, it has left the State of Texas with little options but to adjust to the situation on the ground. And regarding the instate tuition rate, they are getting that b/c they have lived in Texas for 3 years prior to graduating from a Texas high school, which means they have been paying into the system via taxes. They have to pay their own tuition, therefore they are not getting subsidized by anybody.
You say that like you think it should surprise somebody. See you at the bill signing. But really, the two proposals (detain and deport, instate college tuition) do not coexist in the same universe. Who cares what Bush did. He didn't exactly cover himself with glory on the immigration issue..

perry is pretty tough on all criminals. he has not delayed ONE execution.
