Stop peddling the lie that Palin led to Giffords’ shooting
Charleston (WV) Daily Mail ^ | November 25, 2011 | Don Surber

I have great respect for retired Navy Captain Mark Kelly’s service to this nation. I also admire the courage of Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. See Thursday’s post, “God bless you, Gabrielle Giffords.” But I find Captain Kelly’s tactics for selling his new book to be insulting , misleading and plain out wrong. More than that it is disturbingly dishonorable.

From the London Daily Mail:

But it was the lack of any contact from former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin that was ‘surprising’ said Mr Kelly.

Citing the book, Mr Morgan said that it revealed some ‘interesting insights’ into ‘political colleagues and people that [Gabby Giffords] had worked for and against.’

Speaking about a map for which Palin was responsible, with crosshairs over certain states including Arizona, Mr Morgan said that the Alaskan ‘doesn’t come out of this very well, I don’t think, because there was a woman who at the time had been putting these crosshair things on her website and stuff, including Gabby,’ he said.

Sarah Palin’s map had nothing to do with the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Giffords. The man who shot her knew nothing of the map and had stalked the captain’s wife for 3 years prior to the shooting that left 6 people dead.

I wonder whether Kelly’s angling for his own political career.

&&&
Wouldn’t surprise me. Perhaps he has his eye on his wife’s seat when the truth comes out that she really can’t handle the position any more. What a jerk.

The shooter was a liberal democrat, no?...

Lots of liberal democrats taking their queues from Sarah Palin?

Democrats, always stay classy. It’s not enough that these two will be cared for by our tax dollars for the rest of their lives; they get to besmirch the character of private citizens without any supporting facts.

And yet, they had no problem with that thug Jimmy Hoffa saying that the members of the Tea Party should be “taken out.”

I was channel surfing the other night and I saw he was on Pier’s show. He actually said that Palin was not responsible.

Excellent! Me too ;-)

In fact, I have been conducting a “blame Øbumbler” for several months now. I use the excuse of any price increase, breakdown, interruption, or calamity to subtlety blame the bass turd.

I don’t expect dramatic results - rather I conduct it as a FUD campaign to sow the seeds of doubt.

How can it be the “Giffords shooting”? How come its not named after the federal judge who died?

These people know that Sarah Palin is not responsible for what happened, they are just using that idiot argument for their own political purposes. Piers Morgan is a liberal hack, how ironic that a guy that is always trashing America is a host on the show “America’s Got Talent.” Funny how no one brings up the blog post on the Daily Kos written a day before the shooting where someone said that Giffords was “Dead to him” if that isn’t a threat I don’t know what is. Blaming Sarah Palin for what happened would be like blaming Giffords for not having any security at her event. She was shot by a whack job who today if he wasn’t in the looney bin somewhere would be chillin with the Occupy Wall Street freaks.

Include Sheriff Dupnick (D) of Pima County who blamed on Sarah Palin and the TEA Party on TV minutes after the shooting and then repeated that statement for three weeks..

How big of him to state the obvious.

The innuendo is what annoys most of us. Captain Mark Kelly makes the lame observation about the Palin 'bullseye' map but totally ignores the fact that the shooter was demented and that an election-related map on Sarah Palin's website had absolutely nothing to do with his decision to shoot the congresswoman. That Kelly resurrects this crap is highly annoying.

Let’s count the Republicans who came to her defense on one finger, shall we?

Everyone who tries to connect her to the shootings can go straight to Hell and never return.

Hello Diane Sawyer.

It was mass hysteria on the local Tucson “news” that day too. The talking heads were falling all over one another to blame conservatives and even “divisive” bumper stickers. Always with looks of disgust on their faces.

Doesn’t fit the narrative. A deranged Communist/anarchist murdered the Republican judge and shot Giffords, yet it is “Palin’s fault.” Mr. Kelly, Mizzzzzzz Sawyer and all the other idiots alleging that filth can go screw themselves.

I don’t see that Palin had anything to do with this. The shooter was a nutcase who would probably at this very moment be hanging out with Occupy Wall Street, and had absolutely nothing in common with Palin and no interest in her positions, as far as I can see and based on what he said.

There is something about Kelly that I never have liked. He seems to be a liberal...more so than Gabby. I wonder if he has influenced her?
