British papers use “partner” for all personal relationships, including marriage. (What they use for a contracted business association such as a law firm, I don’t know.)
“Pakistani man and Pakistani woman murdered ...” seems more accurate. She was certainly pretty.

This is unfortunate. But if these two were Muslims, they really were incapable of non-Islamic citizenship. In the eyes of all Muslims, Muslims are citizens of the Umma first - the community of Muslims. And THAT, if indeed they are Muslim as I suspect, is the reason for the attack and their deaths.

Police in the country say Miss Naurin’s taxi driver father, 58-year-old Muzaffar Hussain, is being viewed as a chief suspect in the shootings.
Mr Hussain, from New Jersey, was in Pakistan at the time of the killing but has now returned to his U.S. home.
