“I’ll take a state governor over a DC insider who took millions from Fannie Mae anyday. Also, if you think Perry has no convictions, then Newt certainly doesn’t.”

I can;t disagree with your assessment, but a guy who can’t remember what agencies he wants to close and clearly campaigns off reactive talking points is NOT going to change the direction of America.

We need an Idealogue. Short of that, we need someone at least bold enough to blow the place up.

Newt has his past, no doubt, but between him and Perry, somehow I get the sense that Newt will make big change.

>>I seriously doubt that he has any idea of the magnitude of the heat he brought down on himself tonight. <<

He may as well have plopped down on the couch next to Pelosi again.

And they say this guy is the smartest man in the room?

Yeah, right. What an idiot.

99% of people on FR ..... have every right - duty - to hold the candidates’ feet to the fire and make them earn the support of conservatives.

You are 100% correct, however...... hollering "FURP!!!" "FUNG!!!" and calling other conservative candidates "idiots" and their supporters "bots" is not exactly a thoughtful and objective process of evaluation.

Two choices for the children:

1. All parents are required to be responsible for their children, so they must go with their parents or be left here with appropriate support from the parents.

2. The children are put in foster care.

How about Newt letting them all move into his house so he can pay for all their needs.

Perry is more conservative - mainly because Newt is way farther out on this issue than Perry, not because Perry’s position is what it should be.

Newt is dangerous because he is a chameleon.

I know. How about one of these fools advocating for amnesty for citizens instead. Amnesty from being killed on our highways and having our citizens attacked/robbed/raped by the illegal invaders. Amnesty from having to pay the billions in tax dollars for social services for these illegal invaders. Amnesty from having wages driven down by illegals who will work for peanuts because they live 12 to a house or apartment.

That’s an amnesty plan I could get behind.

I agree with many of your points, and that’s where the solution lies: IN CONGRESS. Any of the Presidential candidates will sign this kind of legislation if it is passed.

The President can secure the border and enforcing existing law. Deportation is a non-starter, so let’s fight this fight where is belongs, in the Congress.

At least he actually talked about who he’d deport. Bachmann, too. This has got to be the first campaign we’ve actually seen that.

In 2008 McCain said he would deport the estimated 2 million "criminal" illegal aliens "immediately" and give a pathway to earned citizenship (aka amnesty) to the rest.

They can do whatever they want to do. I personally choose not to spend every single day tearing down any of the candidates. I disagree that 99% of FR will vote for the Republican candidate regardless of who wins. It depends on who wins. Some on here hate the Republican candidate more than Barry Hussein. I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if they voted for Hussein just get back at the GOP candidate that they hate more. Sorry, it’s just becoming an intolerable climate for me lately. I will be glad when the elections are over and we have a year to go. UGH!

He also sets up a straw man with the 25 years, etc.,

But wait — 25 years ago. Hmmmmm. That rings a bell. Did something happen back in 1986 with regard to immigration? Oh, yeah, I remember — Congress passed the one and only amnesty for illegal immigrants, the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), that legalized close to 3 million illegals (there had been about 5 million, so about 2 million remained after the amnesty, because they didn’t meet the law’s requirements). That was supposed to be followed by tough enforcement to prevent future illegal immigration and to throw out the resident illegals who didn’t qualify for the amnesty (or who failed to lie their way to a green card, since a large share of those successfully claiming amnesty, perhaps as many as one-quarter, did so fraudulently — among the liars was Mahmud “The Red” Abouhalima, a leader of the first World Trade Center attack).

So the Gingrich Amnesty would cover illegal immigrants here when Congress passed IRCA. That is to say, it would pick up where the previous amnesty left off, legalizing precisely those people who didn’t qualify for IRCA. This just underlines what a chump you have to be to support any deal offered you by amnesty supporters.

It’s official. I’m sitting this election out. Oh, I’ll write in a conservative, but I wouldn’t even consider voting for any of the top 3.

people have to look past glaring flaws in the Republican candidates or somehow they’re supporting Obama

I don’t disagree and I’ve made my share of comments but I also realize that there is no perfect conservative candidate and it still does not change the fact that if one’s idea of a perfect candidate isn’t the nominee, he takes his ball and goes home and we have 4 more years of the Marxist. You think he was bad the first 4 when he had re-election on his mind, you ain’t seen nothing yet pal.

Perry is more conservative - mainly because Newt is way farther out on this issue than Perry, not because Perry’s position is what it should be.

Newt is dangerous because he is a chameleon.

What difference does that comparison make? Perry is equally dangerous to America. At least he has a long specific track record for us to base his campaign promises and rhetoric on and his likely future performance as President, so we can see if the rhetoric matches his established record. And I agree that Newty is as or is more dangerous as well.

With Newty he reminds me of the pol who wets his finger and thrusts it up into the political winds to see what direction to take. Maybe not as bad as 'Obama Lite' Romney but cut from the same cloth, the RINO cloth that is.

Oh, and Perry is no conservative as far as I'm concerned. He bleeds blue blood just as Newty does. One difference as I see it is that Newty has a real thick RINO crust, thicker than Perry's.

People seem to misunderstand what can and can’t be done under the law. We can deport illegal aliens and their anchor babies who are under age 18. It is up to the illegal alien to find a sponsor if they want the child to remain in the US. Anchor babies cannot sponsor their parents to come to the US legally until they reach age 21. So, yes American citizens can be deported along with their illegal alien parents.

We just passed a milestone on November 6. Since 9/11 50,000 Americans have been killed by illegal aliens.

Today is National Remembrance Day for Americans Killed by Illegal Aliens
