WInston Churchill summed up Islam in the First Edition of The River War, 1899.

First, what Churchill wrote and had printed in the first edition:

However, the ‘contentious’ paragraphs quoted above were Bowlderized in the Second Edition.

Islam is a creed of a desert people in a primitive and barbaric age. It is fixated in time and place; it harbors the ambition of taking the 21st century world back 14 centuries and ruling it by its dogma of violence, intolerance, injustice and death. Yet, Islam is not only an obsolete vestige of a defunct era, but itself is an infinitely fractured belief that can hardly put its own home in order. The numerous Islamic sects are at each other's throats; sub-sects and schools despise one another as much as they hate non-Muslims. Hatred, not love, drives Islam.

I think I can boil all of this down to one simple statement: Islam is the spawn of satan.

Once you understand that, everything about the 'religion' makes complete and total sense.

I lead a Bible study with a group of Iranian Christians at my church who came to Christianity after reading the Bible and realized that this was what Islam should be.

As the author states Islam was forced on Iran and therefore the rest of the Arab Islamic world don’t really trust Iranians as ‘true believers’ and also most Iranians are nominal Muslims anyway.
