It is appearing increasingly likely that once out of government, Newt’s influence could be bought by the highest bidder.

Sadly, I think you're correct. And Newt makes it worse by claiming to be a Freddie Mac "historian", not a lobbyist.

If that's not a lie, it's very close to being one.

And it's making me sick. Pigs at the trough.

well OK. I agree with him. He isn’t a lobbyist in the classic sense. Has he tried to persuade government officials to certain points of view. yes. so what?

We have a lot of new posters on this site masquerading as Newt supporters are in essence Pro-RINOmney.

Boy, that's too deep for me. (and I'm talking barn-yard deep.)

Herman Cain has said he did lobbying as one of the faucets of his job with the National Restaurant Association during this 3 year tenure. He said that during his time at the NRA about 30% was spent on lobbying.

We can't change Obama. He is what he is and probably worse than we know.

What I do care about it putting a Conservative in the White House. A man or woman who will work for the people.

We need someone who can beat Obama. I don't think Newt will carry the Midwest or the South. They look at him as a Beltway Insider and he and his wife as DC Elitists.

So we should settle for Newt because he is an Brilliant Debater, an Intellectual Giant and dismiss the history of his progressive Conservative agenda?

No thank you. There are better candidates who have stronger conservative values.

Mr. Cain ran the National Restaurant Association, a once-sleepy trade group that he transformed into a lobbying powerhouse”

——————————————————>
What was he lobbying for? What was his salary? How much of his work career the NRA was actually spent on lobbying and who did he lobby?

I guess Cain does have excellent experience in taking a once-sleepy trade group and transformed into a lobbying powerhouse! ALL in THREE YEARS!

GO HERMAN CAIN!

Herman Cain has said he did lobbying as one of the faucets of his job with the National Restaurant Association

But there is a big difference here. Cain was paid with private funds. If the National Restaurant Association wants to pay Cain to lobby, or to write the history of the cheeseburger, I say go right ahead.

But Newt was paid $250,000 a year with taxpayer money, my money. What did the taxpayer get for that money? Darn little that I can see. I'm not OK with that.

I looked to see if you just posted threads attacking candidates you oppose;
or if you ever posted threads advocating someone you support.

I did not see any.

You are doing Herman more harm than good with your tactics.

Take a hint: You are a poopy pants and everyone here knows it.

Thank you for doing the work of the lame stream media for them.

Newt supported Hillary Clinton's health care plan.

Newt supported Nancy Pelozi’s and Al Gore's Global Warming agenda and participated in a National Campaign to tell all of our Conservatives we were wrong on GW.

Newt is as a progressive Conservative as Mitt.

You are making assumptions about Cain. My assumption is that Herman Cain is in it to win it and not shill for Romney.

Newt can twist so many things with his intellectual speak that it’s hard for people to understand what the h*ll he’s talking about.

Apparently Newt does.

But that still doesn't excuse Gingrich's false statement that he has "never done lobbying."

Well Ronald Reagan was the first President to admit he needed advisers from the get go - and got good ones.

Since the departure of RR I don't know of one President who could stand up and say his foreign policy has been a success.

Newt's personality doesn't seem conducive to take anyone’s advise other than his own. There have been reports that he has a terrible, sometimes uncontrollable temper, when it comes to folks disagreeing with the Professor.
