While both Wood and Walken denied any romantic involvement they did share an off-screen friendship that Natalie’s husband was a part of as well.

Hard to believe that this ‘line’ was written only 30 years ago.
Even then it was considered (sort of) risque but it would never pass muster today.

Talk about reading between the lines and the reporter just reporting what he (basically) knows as fact, leaving his own personal speculation out of it, while still conveying the message.
