And Freddie lies about EVERYTHING. Read Reckless Endangerment, Freddie was a massive lie machine. The fact they denied it is proof Newt’s telling the truth.

—1.6 million for opinion, REALLY? Come on—

It was over a decade, the total amount.

My company paid an ex-Congressman 2 million over 13 years just so they could say they had him as an adviser. Not really unusual - it’s about the big name.

A Conservative POTUS would sure be some sweet icing on the cake though.

Not gonna happen this time.

However, we do need to do whatever we can to help Scott Walker in Wisconsin....I am excited about his future in 2016.

I knew a guy doing “Historical Consulting’ for GM back in the 90’s. Gm KNEW the pensions were going to break them in next decade or so, and were trying to convince the Union to switch to 401K plans.

Just for the record:

It is not Newt saying he was just giving advice in this article, it is what the attack dog media uncovered when they tried to prove him a liar.

They unintentionally confirmed his story, and begrudgingly admit he was (as they put it) ‘technically correct.’

It must have pained them greatly to have to publish this article. Look at how passive-aggressively they begrudgingly admit they have confirmed his story.

Newt is just one of the republicans riding the Fannie and Freddie gravy train. This is the reason why Dubya Admin could not get the reforms he was pushing for (not real hard) also the Senate leader Frist would not allow a vote on the reform bill see

Republicans eat their own. Who needs democrats or even the MSM to trash our people when we do such a great job ourselves. So who ARE you supporting?

There are a lot of trolls on this site trying to create animosity between conservatives. Trolls also try to create wedge issues between the fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, libertarians, constitutionalists, and whomever else gathers here.

-—”Say, how do you like the fact your guy is under attack now?”-—

LOL “My Guy” Newt (Who is “My Guy” only via the Buckley Rule) has been under attack since 1990.

He’s been through the fire, this is nothing new.

I have not viewed FR for a few days but read that Newt was still gaining in the polls. I just knew that when I got back to my computer and checked FR that there would be at least a dozen “Newt is a RINO” postings. It is funny to me that when anyone other than Romney becomes the frontrunner these posting start to pop up, hmmmm.

Therefore, 0bama = winner, November 2012.

All of the above could win over Obama in 2012.

Obama is himself an Occupier and eventually Occupiers get kicked out.

One only has to see the recent major election victories in states like VA to see the wind of change is not blowing in Obama's favor.

Cain/Bachmann/Santorum......are the only people who can be trusted to carry forward conservative agenda.

Romney’s flip-flops are legion.
Newt’s flip flop and associations with Pelosi, Sharpton, Hillary are well documented record.
Perry is soft on illegals, and his tax proposal will exempt 60% of tax payers from paying any taxes.

what he told them about the plan was that it was “insane” - it’s in another article - but I didn’t save it -

Oh heck. Here.I found it.

quote: “Gingrich has been sharply critical of housing industry loan practices and Democrats who he said “created the environment” for the meltdown. In an Oct. 11 Republican presidential debate, Gingrich said, “You ought to start with Barney Frank,” the Massachusetts congressman who serves as the ranking Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, when talking about people to put in jail.

‘Look at the Lobbyists’

“Go back and look at the lobbyists he was close to at Freddie Mac,” Gingrich said in the debate, sponsored by Bloomberg News and the Washington Post.
...

““I offered them advice on precisely what they didn’t do,” he said. “My advice as a historian, when they walked in and said to me, ‘We are now making loans to people who have no credit history and have no record of paying back anything, but that’s what the government wants us to do.’ As I said to them at the time, this is a bubble. This is insane. This is impossible.”

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-15/gingrich-said-to-be-paid-by-freddie-mac-to-win-republican-allies.html

They hired him/his consultant firm. He was NOT A lobbyist. He studied their plan and told them they were insane.

Being hired as a consultant to look at a business in order to offer advise is NOT the same as being in bed with them. They didn’t like his advice - but that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Kinda like in here - people HATE to look at evidence that disputes claims that Newt’s a bad apple.

Tough...

I like Perry, he would probably be a good president. Unfortunately, every time he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it or becomes so tongue tied he sounds like moron.

He also sounds too much like GWB. Unfortunate, but true.

So it’s ok to blame the media again, instead of cheering them on as they smear a Republican candidate? Ok got it

The only thing they found on Perry was a big rock and Sarah has already been vetted.

I would hope we're looking for a president on the basis of their experience and expertise - not on who the media has dug up the most dirt on - particularly since most of it isn't true,

Everyone attacks Romney here all the time for being a RINO, including me btw. The void he is leaving is what is causing everyone to fight whoever is recently on top.

$ 1.6 million for opinion, REALLY? Come on.

It has, until today, been reported to be $300.000. Looks like the media did a little inflating. Nah, the media wouldn't do that...
