The Case for Banning Sharia Law in America
American Thinker ^ | November 13, 2011 | JanSuzanne Krasner

Posted on 11/14/2011 12:37:02 PM PST by NYer

The incompatibility of Islamic sharia law with secular courts stems from the underpinning of Islamism -- the unyielding union of the laws and punishments of the Qu'ran and Hadiths with the country's legal and political system.  Sharia law is the legislation of these religious and criminal rules, which rejects America's constitutional secularism and legal penalties.

The Qu'ran commands Muslims to change secular laws to conform to sharia, eventually establishing Islamic law worldwide.  Islamic courts want their fatwas to supersede the civil and criminal laws, untying Muslims from civil secular courts.

The facts reveal that in 2008, when the first sharia court was recognized in the U.K., within one year, over 85 recognized sharia courts were established within the U.K.'s Tribunal Court system.  The problem with this rapidly spreading dogma is that several of these courts have issued some fatwas that are completely incompatible with British and European law.

As Islam is a male-dominated ideology, the laws of the Qu'ran make half of its devotees, its female population, second-class citizens.  This inequality has drawn recent attention to the need for additional British legislation to rein in these courts so they abide by British law.

It appears that once any legal system opens its doors to Islamic law, that door will be hard to close...and eventually, the only thing missing will be a parallel Islamic government.

But even with this reality in front of Americans, there are still many who insist that our laws will prevent such circumstances from ever occurring in the U.S.  And because of this nonchalant attitude, there are numbers of people, both Muslim and non-Muslim, who believe that sharia law is not a threat to non-Muslim Americans or to the Western liberal democratic rule of law.

The possibility that Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves could be created in the U.S. seems unimaginable to most Americans, but it already is a reality. Just travel 150 mile northwest of New York City to the woods of the western Catskills, and you will find Islamberg, a private Muslim community founded in 1980 by Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani. Sheikh Gilani is said to be one of the founders of Jamaat al-Fuqra, a terrorist organization believed to be responsible for dozens of bombings and murders in the U.S. and abroad.

Our Constitution already defacto bans sharia law. What we need to do is either unelect or impeach any judge who uses it, or attempts to use, it in decision in a U.S. court room.

If that ever started to take hold here, the Islamists would be 1000x harder to deal with than the Mormans were back in the day.

I can’t believe there is even a debate about this...

As Islam is a male-dominated ideology, the laws of the Qu'ran make half of its devotees, its female population, second-class citizens.

This statement is false. The 'laws' of the Quran don't make females second-class citizens, it makes them chattel, which aren't citizens at all, but PROPERTY...

I'm not even sure why we're even discussing this. Are we so impotent as a culture that we cannot be confident in our way of life that we must question who we are and what we stand for?

Stop this PC madness. A spade is a spade, a duck is a duck, a muzzie is a muzzie.

Shari’ah law is the ultimate in case law.

There is NOTHING like the Decalogue or the “Golden Rule” in Shari’ah law, and there is no review or appeal, except to the mercy of the imam or other theological authority. And mercy is not justice, it is an admission that the justice system is badly flawed.

“The incompatibility of Islamic sharia law with secular courts....”

.
That is all that needs to be said.

Look at any islamic hellhole and ask yourself if that is what you want to live in.

This subject needs to be brought up at a future republican presidential candidates debate or all their other plans are moot and of no value.

There is no problem with religious communities living together apart.

They still have to abide by neutral secular law.

Or Janet Reno will burn them to the ground.

Or something like that.

The United States Constitution already bands Sharia law.

The most telling thing is how justifiably little confidence we all have that our domestic enemies will be at all deterred by it.

“1000x harder to deal with than the Mormans were back in the day.”

I do not understand your position on “dealing with the Mormons.” It all boils down to freedom of religion and the liberty to vote for what ever candidate one chooses. How were the “Mormons dealt with?” Run out of their legally owned homes, farms, businesses, in the middle of winter with only what they could carry. Many died from exposure (women, elderly and children). At least they were/are patriotic and American Citizens!!!!! Many of their forefathers fought in the Revolutionary War. Gee, such routine ignoring of the Constitution was as common then as now!
Thanks /s

I'm not even sure why we're even discussing this.

Because, like it or not, it is coming. There are many issues on which our country has caved ... gays in the military, for example ... it is simply a matter of time. The best offense is a great defense. If you wait until it is on the doorstep, it will be too late to rally the troops.

While the reactions by the states and fed gov (Buchanan) were way out of line, the early LDS weren’t exactly playing ball with respect to the Constitution. That’s what I was referring to, and that’s why I used a multiplier of “1000x harder.”

No offense was meant, and I surely wasn’t talking about today’s Mormans.

There is absolutely nothing that can be done about the growing muzzie presence.

Look at the number of mosques popping up...everywhere.

In Downtown Houston, right off of the Smith st. exit, a HUGE Islamic center.

It's so in your face. Even in the burbs, mosques popping up all around. Not lil tiny 20 member buildings, these are large buildings.

google maps “roods creek road and moslem road, hancock, ny”. Head up Moselm road for the town. North of the town you see ground cleared in odd patches (firing ranges is my guess).
