The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15 (see trends).
Thats the presidents best Approval Index rating in three months. Still, most voters continue to favor repeal of his primary legislative accomplishment, the health care law.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook
Overall, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Thats the first time since June that the president has reached the 50% mark. Forty-nine percent (49%) at least somewhat disapprove.

Unreal. I wonder if this is statistical noise. The next few days should give us an indication.
BHO is going to win reelection. When that happens it’s not going to be pretty.
You are one of the posters who knew this was coming. Both of us have been minorly flamed suggesting that beating Obama will be a huge challenge.
At this point, if I was handicapping, I’d make Obama 3:2 favorite.
I hope it’s just statistical noise, but he’s been trending up, especially in overall approval, since late last week. I wonder what gives...
Thanks.. and I agree on those 3:2 odds.
Obama is confident in his ineptitude, knowing he has the MSM covering for him. If Solyndra, Lightsquared and F & F had been on a GOP watch, heads would be rolling, poll numbers would be tanking.
This is just a residual effect of him drifting to the background in the political dialog.
The Kenyan’s poll numbers are rising. Not good.
Tax the rich, blame do nothing congress, blame Wall St, OWS mau maus, 2nd quarter GDP growth, Libya? What could it be?
I think this is also, in part, a product of the GOP candidates sliming each other during the past few months. It causes voters to take a second look at Obama and perhaps decide... “They’re all bad (on the GOP side)... I’ll stay with the devil I know.”
And THAT is the difference between Old America and New America. Old America looked at Big Government as an obstacle to success and prosperity. New America looks to government largesse as that which nourishes it.
He’s betting on the stupidity of the American people. It’s a pretty good bet.

___________
All of the above.
He seems to be out of the media lately which probably helps as well.
He has to be favored in 2012. No primary, huge war chest, etc. It certainly does not bode well for our country.
A lot can change, though.
If Zero is at -12 by this Friday you can worry a little.
People are stupid.
This “rise” falls within the margin of error, so I wouldn’t get excited.
Its just noise. Last I checked, the economy is not getting better (consumer confidence is low) and scandals (solar) are not going away.
I think one factor to consider. Whenever Hussien gives a speach or presser, his numbers go down. He was not really visible last week. Hence the soft bump.
On another FR article, Hussien just called Americans lazy....yep, that will boost his numbers!
I completely agree. He's still the "shiny new bling," I guess.
I agree with those of you who think Hussein will pull this off and it might not even be close.
We have weak GOP candidates, Bam is the incumbent with available opportunities to lie and cheat his way to victory again, he has the MSM in his pocket and many voters are dumber than boxes of rocks.
There just aren’t enough of us who understand the implications and we will be powerless to stop the insanity.
Pray for our Republic.
Maybe he is trending up because he is out of the country?
All the brain dead who voted for him and want a free ride are killing America. Obama must be flushed!
It makes all the nauseating posts about a MSM on a deathwathc here at FR very seem foolish.
ALL POLLS, that is without exception all public released polls are for profit marketing tools to shape public opinion. They only work as long as gullible people pay attention to them. Best poll is to ask people you know and what you see from people you learned to trust.
Worthless liberals appreciate Obama calling them lazy.
It could be the trouble is that they are not excited by the GOP candidates.
I can't speak for others, but the people I know and trust tend conservative. It won't be a good representation of the public at large. That's why I take all those anectotes of "everyone I talk to says he's toast" with a pound of salt.
anectotes=anecdotes
Yep.. to them, it's a badge of "honor." Do nothing to further yourself and get free stuff from the gub-mint.
Consider, This Pollster consistently shows Romney as one of the top 3 with strong double digit results. Yet 3/4 of conservatives and most evangelicals can’t stand him. Common sense tells you hes not doing well at all. Yet...
Agreed
Let’s not all go jumping off a cliff just yet. Polls are just polls. They can be skewed for a number of different reasons.
I think it’s mostly because the dipsh!t has been going against his character and keeping his piehole shut for a few days. But that’ll change. The king of narcissism can’t stay out of the spotlight for long.
Also, a factor I believe that if anyone else’s life is like mine, this is an extremely busy time of the year and I pay attention to politics just a little less.
Cbs just had the idiots approval at 43%
He simply didn’t do anything abismally stupid last week that would grab headlines. Media occupied with Occupy, Cain, and lost babies. Solyndra, Siga under the radar.
And he’s on vacation again - which is good for his numbers.
Well he definitely is rebounding off the dismal numbers during summer. The question remains in the battleground States of FL, OH, VA, NV, NC, CO and IN. I suspect that much of his support is confined to blue States and urban areas.
At this point, if I was handicapping, Id make Obama 3:2 favorite.
Been trying to tell people the same thing. Yet it seems like the majority here on FR have managed to convince themselves Obama could not be re-elected - even though polling actually shows him faring remarkably well considering what a terrible job he has done. This absurd, echo chamber fantasy that Obama is going to be so easy to beat that we can just run anybody is absolute foolishness. Obama will be extremely difficult to defeat, he will get no less than 45% of the vote and is more likely to get closer to 50% of vote. IF we win in 2012, it will probably be by a very slim margin.
Ramussen is by far the most accurate pollster...it is a mistake to simply dismiss his polls when they don’t tell you what you want to hear.
Humble pie for those who thought Obama was toast. 2012 will be an epic struggle and if we win it will be by the skin of our teeth.
“Obama will be extremely difficult to defeat, he will get no less than 45% of the vote and is more likely to get closer to 50% of vote. IF we win in 2012, it will probably be by a very slim margin.”
From what I hear people say, and what I read, you’re on the money.
You are totally right. When it comes to presidential election, at the end of the day, the challenger should excite and it has not happened. I think, obama campaign is doing a brilliant job of destroying every viable republican candidate, one at a time. For example in sept and start of october, they destroyed rick perry. End of october and November, they are destroying cain candidate. When they do so, they make us take our eyes of Obama
But having said that, folks look at the 2011 election
Virginia-—Democrats got a huge defeat
Ohio-———Unions won their bargaining issue BUT, democrats lost big with the Obama Care. If I was part of Obama campaign, I will be worried because, the same union crowd voted no for Obama health care.
The simple reason is that several GOP candidates’ cults, have been using Alinsky tactics against other Republicans.
Instead of against the left.
Ignoring Reagan’s 11th Commandment.
Reagan was right.
Whom are they polling? The OWS Crowd?
“Also, a factor I believe that if anyone elses life is like mine, this is an extremely busy time of the year and I pay attention to politics just a little less.”
___________________________________________________________
Thats a good observation. We should not be surprised in seeing his numbers improve slightly between now and the end of the year. It will be busy with the holidays and people’s minds will not be on politics.
Well are all of you daily poll way watchers just going to have your breakdown and co hide in the corner?
Boo hoo, the daily tracking poll in 2011 says Obama is going to win in Nov 2012.
Really?
Go do something productive and stop acting like pathetic defeatists.
Runs around pointing fingers at everyone. Hes just been more active lately.
Even so its disheartening that people believe him.
It’s time to start looking State by State.
Indiana, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia all look to be falling out of Obama’s column. That leaves Ohio and one TBA.
If Obama loses the four above, and he loses Ohio, all we have to do is drop one more from his column. Wisconsin, Nevada, Colorado, New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa or Pennsylvania are are States that could be considered “flippers”, and are all States he needs to heavily defend.
It won’t be “easy”, but the path to victory (at least in the EC math) is pretty straight forward: Flip Ohio and one other, or flip any 3 from that list and Obama cannot win.
Bingo
He’s out of the country.
Relax we haven't even nominated a candidate, let alone re-elect Zero!!!
Amen!!! I just saw on Fox News an hour ago that Obama 43% Generic Repub 43%
