We can retire that national debt by charging admission to Newt debating Obama!
Now we all know, Obama has his Chicago team eliminate* his competition, so he never has to face them.
(* politically)
But can you imagine the entertainment value in Obama dodging debates with Newt?
As we all know Barack is too cowardly to take on a knowledgeable opponent!

Newt is definitely the smartest guy in GOP race at the moment. Independents won’t vote for him, its just an unfortunate fact.

I believe that either the fact of debates w Obama or the cowardice of Obama dodging him, will be sufficient to sway independents.

Do you suggest my ideals should ignore objective political reality?
Do you expect society to reflect your values any day soon?

I expect you to live up to your own professed standards: rejecting Cain because he lacks a subset of experience, while ignoring his character, doesn't fit the text of your tagline.
Cheers!

Your post #11: BRAVO! Love it!
To: grey_whiskers
I expect you to pay attention to reality.
I can love Cain and wish him the best all day long.
That doesn’t disable me from making an objective assessment.
I’m not “rejecting” anybody.
I’m making a political assessment.

OBTW
If I were leading w my heart, I’d be touting Santorum, because his values most closely reflect my own.
But, you don’t see me out here pretending he can win the nomination, just because I prefer his character, over that of all the other candidates.

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound,
he tries to pull the Tea Party candidate down.

Your political assessment is doubtless something dear to you.
But the mass of voters are not the intellectual caliber of Freepers, and won't be pressing for substance to the degree that FReepers do.
Cain knows this from having been IN the retail world. Recall the maxim "Sell the sizzle, not the steak."
He's building rapport with voting blocks: people win the vote by being trustworthy, likable.
And after the preening-off-of-a-teleprompter / neurolinguistic narcissism of Obama, I bet a LOT of voters are eating up the "I myself don't know, I'll find someone who does" approach of Cain.
The Pollutico non-sourced Clarence-Thomasesque "high tech lynching" is fizzling instead of gaining steam, as he made a forthright categorical denial instead of a "it dependes on what the meaning of the word 'is' is" and then demanded that the accusers put their own cards on the table.
After a couple failed attacks on him like this, even the dimmest bulbs begin to mouth the words set-up to themselves on hearing the next one.
Cheers!

I bet that wears thin by January.

The REAL fun is going to be when the GOP candidates start jockeying for votes by hinting about their probably running mates.
