Dittos! I saw the report yesterday along with all of its flowery junk and it was painfully obvious this was a spike for put-off necessities that comes around every so often, especially at the start of the school year.
Exactly, and for the life of me, I couldn’t understand the unnatural exuberance around these horrible numbers. Going to be a bad winter. People need winter coats and clothes. College students leaving home need furniture and vehicles. Common sense played no role in touting these numbers as a good sign of anything.
With the cost of food. fuel, and energy skyrocketing, it will only get worse, not better. Every utility I have has gone up with added surcharges. It’s ridiculous.
