The title of the article says a lot. Salon is a hard left site, and they get most things wrong. But they sure have Rove's number.

The real question is this: Is Fox that ignorant of what Rove is up to, or are they co-conspirators?

He needs to STFU and let the process run its course. It is not ethical OR fair for Rove to make an end run on ANY candidate at this point. Down the road when the horse race narrows, fine... his comments will matter.... NOT NOW

Voters are entitled to hear candidates unencumbered by biased and mean-spirited input from the side lines.

Rove has distinguished himself with his love
of ineligible, implausible, political cross dressers.

Rove is nothing but a paid pimp, like FOX “News”.

Pig Rove has been popping up on Fox a hell of a lot lately.

You'd be surprised how quick I can grab the remote.

Maybe Karl should run for office so we can show him how acceptable he is.

Rove is basically right. Ideology aside, few have demonstrated the staying power, consistent support, field organization, discipline, focus, and endorsements as Romney. Perry is Romney’s only real peer on the stage. The others are just competing for airtime and attention. Does anyone seriously believe that Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, or Michelle Bachmann or Rick Santorum has a plausible chance? Of course not. And Cain won’t last too long under scrutiny as he is the least tested and there are some obvious flaws with 999.

And the Tea Party has been ALL OVER THE MAP. First Palin supporters, when she didn’t get in, they went to Bachmann. Then the very day Perry announced, they dropped Bachmann and went over to him, and then after a few subpar debate performances and mulligans, they are now flocking to Cain. Romney will win simply by divide and conquer and that the Tea Party has been all over the map.

Karl Rove was responsible for Arnold Palmer and Lincoln Chaffee, among other stellar picks.

everyone needs to stop looking at Fox as some messenger for the right. They are not and are just another media source from which to get partial information but never the complete truth. That onus, is upon you, me and everyone from which they should make decisions.

Fox News ain't all its cracked up to be.

The RINO’s are revolting, they should go and start their own party: The Roadkill Party or the Moderate Eastablishment Party or something.

Sean Hannity keeps referring to Rove as “The Architect”.

I think The Undertaker is a better choice. He killed the GOP’s chances of a Republican Successor by his miserable advise to GWB in his last term on many issues. And the fact that Bush II’s wins were so close both times - given the poor opponents he faced is no tribute to Rove’s abilities.

FOX is an active Co-Conspirator with Rove, shilling for Romney at every turn.

They want to keep the same establishment monkeys in power who helped create the mess that put Obama in power. Kraphammer in particular has shown his true colors. Brit Hume is no conservative. I remember the venom that filled his eyes when he spoke with or about Palin. Fred Barnes always was an unreconstructed Bushbot.

Salon is a left-wing propaganda outlet and if they are giving Rove publicity for his statements, that just proves the left hopes to promote a Romney candidacy and see a repeat of 2008, where Obama, against all odds, wins. Not this time. Even among the more apathetic Republicans and independents, Romney is hardly an attractive candidate. His Wall Street background along with his unrepentant support for the failed RomneyCare scheme in Massachusetts will sink him. He is too slick by far and his flip-flopping has not gone unnoticed. If Beltway operators like the ideology-free Karl Rove have their way, Romney will dutifully lose to Obama and even if he somehow pulled off a win, he would be only slightly better than Obama on most significant issues. No way, José!

The TEA party has basically coalesced around the candidacy of Herman Cain. Yes, many of us were Palin supporters but when she announced she would not run, we went to Cain. Well, I did. Rick Perry was never on my short list. I like Bachmann and Santorum but never saw them as real contenders. Right now, I'm keeping an eye on Newt Gingrich as my 'backup' candidate, should Cain somehow blow it, which I doubt. Newt has many attributes and some negatives but if Cain can't make it, I could vote for Gingrich without holding my nose so tightly that it hurts, as I had to do with John McCain in '08.

I really don't understand the animosity toward Fox News. Granted, they are not, as the liberal media try to claim, the propaganda arm of the Republican party but they do give Republicans a fair shot. No other network does that. None. Yes, they have Karl Rove as a commentator. They also have Sarah Palin. I ignore Rove, Krauthammer et al. and I simply do not see Fox News as the stealth liberal Democrat propaganda outlet a few FReepers seem to think it is. That is tin foil hat stuff. Fox News is not Free Republic but it is a good source of political news, even if the commentary is sometimes less conservative than I might like. It is not a conservative-hating network like MSNBC and all the others. The demand for total conservative 'purity' from an independent cable TV network operated as a profit-making business is simply unrealistic, in my view. I'm glad we have Fox News.

I believe Herman Cain will get a fair hearing on Fox News and that Karl Rove's opinions will have less and less impact as the presidential primary season unfolds. Rove is old news. Hannity may praise Rove but not many others do and if Cain wins the Republican presidential nomination Rove will be forced to either support him (albeit weakly) or just go away because he can't very well keep saying the Republican candidate 'can't win' and not be lambasted with criticism of his appearances on Fox. I suspect that if Cain wins the presidency, Rove will change his tune - but far too late. He'll be on the outside looking in, where he belongs.
