Karl Rove and others circle wagons to (try to) save the GOP
Washington Post ^ | 10/26/11 | Jonathan Capehart

Karl Rove has been rather chatty of late. He’s taken a hammer to Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) over the birther nonsense and to Herman Cain for basic unpreparedness. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell thought Rove was “trying to circle the wagons around Mitt Romney as an inevitable nominee.” While I saw where he was coming from, I had a different take. Rove isn’t circling the wagons around Romney. He’s circling the wagons around the Republican Party as a legitimate political party in the United States.

Rove is not alone in this endeavor.

The Rockefeller wing has incited a purge, and most of them are too damned stupid to lie low a cycle.

Birther nonsense, eh, WP?

Evidently, you clowns are still using IBM PCs with 48 k memory.

You might try coming into the 21st century, take some simple CS classes, the wake up and smell the faked birth certificates.

Sorry, that’s just the way it is, and journallism degrees are soooooo passe these days.

Here’s the truth, Mr Rove. Romney will lose because at least 25% of base conservatives — like me — will refuse to vote for him for anything ever.

Now, roll that around in your brain for a bit and decide what you want to do. If you keep pushing Romney, then I’m sure you want Obama to remain president for whatever reason that might be.

I am going with some conservative other than Romney in the general. Buy a clue. Romney will lose. Proceed at your own peril.

Primaries have become a gong show where the flavor of the month is batsh’t. Bring back the smoke filled rooms at the convention.

He’s circling the wagons around the Republican Party as a legitimate political party in the United States.

He's not afraid the GOP will lose in 2012. He's afraid that the party, led by Tea Partiers, will win. That leaves out the RINOs as unnecessary. Better for RINOs that the 0bummer wins; they've played that symphony before, and they already know the second-fiddle part.

Alternate universe these libtards and RINOs live on.

Karl Rove = 2006 and 2008 massive losses.

Tea Party = 2010 massive victories.

But Karl Rove is going to rescue the GOP from the Tea Party.

LOL!

Rove's pushing for Romney as most of the Bush folks did in 2008.

... bye Karl!!

I don't think so.

Bozo Hannity and Ted Baxter will continue to give him a platform, over and over and over ... and then ... over and over and over again.

You nailed it. I’m so sick of people saying, “Anybody but obama, and if you don’t vote for ‘anybody’ you ensure four more years of this.” It is not anybody but obama, and if the GOP floats a RINO I will not vote for him. If obama gets another four years it’s not because of me, it’s because of the GOP.

As I keep saying: Both parties are steering us toward socialism, it’s just that one party is driving a little faster than the other. It is for this reason that I will not vote for a RINO pres, even if it means four more years of obama. I believe a revolution is in our midst. If obama gets reelected because of voters like me, I will be able to fight in that revolution. If a RINO is elected because conservatives hold their noses and vote for the RINO, my children will have to fight the revolution. I would rather fight that battle for them.

Jonathon. You socialist democrats ought to be worrying about the mess your own party is in. The GOP will sort itself out soon enough. The facts show the more the american people learn about obama the lower his pole numbers go. The socialist democrats are trying desperately to promote this as racial prejudice. But that is just another LIBERAL LIE. The american people will decide the issues. Not you, the socialist democrats or various people you mention. The facts are Obama, supported by the socialist democrats and his MSM supporters, have not been truthful with the american people. They have attacked instead of produced. This only leads to more mistrust. This will all come to a head in 2012 when the american people make obama and the socialist democrats pay a heavy political price for lying to the them.
