Perry Campaign Chartered a Plane Used in Drug-Smuggling Ring
The Wall Street Journal ^ | OCTOBER 20, 2011 | Mark Maremont

The campaign of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, which said Wednesday it had underpaid wealthy donors for use of their private jets, has another ticklish plane problem.

For a campaign swing that started late last month, Mr. Perry’s campaign chartered a Gulfstream III owned by a California Mexican-food company, Marquez Brothers International, according to flight records and a Marquez Brothers executive.

The same plane was used in a major cocaine-smuggling ring involving a well-known hip-hop music executive that was busted by federal officials last November, according to federal court filings.

A pilot who flew the Marquez Brothers plane was among those who have pleaded guilty in the scheme

Now wait just a minute. What was the going rate for chartering that plane from a Mexican Company?

I don't care/know the going rate. It's a US company.

Your premise that a company that sells Mexican Food is a Mexican Company is incorrect.

Marquez Brothers International, Inc in San Jose, CA is a private company categorized under Natural Cheese. It was established in 1981 and incorporated in California.

I don’t like Perry. But go after him on issues. If you can’t go after him on issues he must be pretty good.

Perry and Romney keep bashing each other on this kind of silly stuff and all it does is remind me I don’t want either of them.

Is “Marquez Brothers” the Spanish for “Marx Brothers”?

I suspect most if not all of us have done the very same thing.

I know I have, many many times.

I've probably also stayed in hotels and motels used for drug deals, prostitution, adultery, and who knows what else!

I should go turn myself in now.

Do you have a comment on this, or are you just letting this piece of crap Perry-bashing story hang there?

And I am speaking as a Cain supporter.

Give us your thoughts, oh wise one.

Oh good grief. Next thing we’ll hear, he got in a cab that a mob boss once rode in.

This is completely absurd to make a news story out of something like this.

The point till is what is the going rate for the same use of the plane and what was the Perry campaign actually charged? Who owns the plane is not that important unless Perry had prior business with it and was given favoritism.

WTH, are they implying Perry is running drugs?

At Whiskey Pete's in Nevada I once leaned on the hood of the 1934 Ford which Bonnie and Clyde were killed in. Guess that makes me associated with those two.

This is super silly. Was Perry supposed to be vetting his private plane service to this level?

Our first new car was a 1963 Plymouth Valiant, paid 1700 bucks for it out the door. With that slant six it was a great little car.

Too bad the term “Yellow Jornalism” has been thrown in the dust bin.

Let's retrieve it.

This is yellow dog type journalism.

I confess— I once drove on a road used by bank robbers for their getaway, and I have also bought gas from a convenience store that has, before and since, been robbed. I am so sorry for what I have done.

Paperdoll said:

Interesting, too, that a Mexican company is supporting Rick Perry, isn’t it?

What was the going rate for chartering that plane from a Mexican Company?

But when she is called on the fact that Marquez is a San Jose, CA company incorporated in 1981, then it's: Who owns the plane is not that important

Then why did you keep insisting on using Mexican, Mexican, Mexican in your previous posts. There is a difference between a company that produces Mexican Food, and a company in Mexico.

"Reframing the argument."
"Speaking Truth to Power".
I think the lefties had primers on that a few years ago.

I confess-I once had my picture taken at Madame Tussaud’s standing next to a wax figure of Adolf Hitler. I guess that makes me a nazi.

Is this the same media that completely overlooked the fact we have an admitted user of illegal drugs residing in the White House running the show?

No, I don’t mean Michelle.
