Well, 500 grand is chump change. What’s really interesting to me is whether or not the group running the show down there registered, and if not why not? I doubt they’d’ve had trouble on the no-politics issue, not with the fox guarding the hen house, and that’s finessed all the time anyway. Just form a “foundation” to launder the money. But if this group isn’t a non-profit, why didn’t they file, and why didn’t the boneheads down there think to inquire?
It won’t be long, if it hasn’t already happened, for a few of the more sociopathic in that herd to see the is rife with opportunity.
Occu-Pies ~ Meet the Flash Mobs
The OWS finance committee should distribute that money equally among everyone. It would be the fair thing to do.
I hope you folks won’t think badly of me for this, but reading this, I had the most thoroughly voluptuous feeling of schadenfreude I’ve experienced since I saw “Inglourious Basterds”.
So they’re now Porkupies?
“What can I do with $150? said Smith. We have three tons of wet laundry here from the rainstorm — how do I get that done? We need winter gear, shoes, socks. I could spend $10,000 alone for backpacks people need. We raise all this money. Where is it?
ROTFLOL....$10,000 alone for backpacks? And there we have the answer to why these people can’t accomplish the American dream. I would think with winter approaching that blankets and sleeping bags would be more important than backpacks....lol. Don’t they realize that in a true communist utopia, they will not be allowed to leave? What do they need backpacks for?
It’s good to know that so many smart people are running things down there.../sarcasm
And this is what happens even without the “evil capitalists” ruining the fantasy. They can’t create their perfect little mini-society even with an all-volunteer crowd and free money raining down on them.
Why buy blankets when you can recreate your own Marxist Valley Forge? Not that any one of them would know what happened there...
But of course.....
The backpacks need to be LL Bean or NorthFace
Only the best will be acceptable....
You don't expect them to pop down to Walmart or KMart?
LOL!!!

It’s almost like Orwell isn’t required reading anymore?

Now, now Comrade abishai....You have committed a thought crime and will be reported to the General Assembly. You will be handed a copy of the Red Book for Red October and of course a shovel and your ration of beets for the day.
How hard is it to replace a 5 gallon bucket?
Of course, they could just pound on each other’s heads...I’m guessing there’d be a significant amount of earthy resonance...and quite loud.
I find it frigging HILARIOUS that they have to fill out paperwork and go through a beaurocratic mess to get $$$ top operate.
And those of them who need winter supplies - HELLO!
Are your heads so far up your arses that you cannot remember to bring a coat, blanket, sleeping bag, etc.?
Do any of these people actually live in the cities where they are protesting? IF so, can’t they actually run home, fix themselves a little backpack of food and supplies rather than expecting someone else to supply them with all their needs?
Of course...LOL! Walmart is for the ‘little people’...not the intelligentsia of the movement!
REALLY!!!!!
