"You know, how many Americans are really fully aware of how many other good people, that’s like Warren Buffett and others, who really donate a lot of their earnings to charities, to philanthropy?" Mr. Brzezinski said. "But how many more are there in the hedge funds? In the banks? In a variety of other places who on the basis of speculation literally make millions of dollars that it would take a century or two for the average person ever to make? I would like to see those lists. And they shouldn't be that difficult to produce. And I think public pressure might have also some effect, not only in terms of moving towards more systematic international coordination and regulation. But also to pressure some of those people to give some of it back, back to society."

If they “make the rich known publicly”, they should also specify how much in taxes those “rich people” do actually pay. It would be an eye-opener for many, I am sure, to see how much they pay. Is it fair for one person to pay several hundred thousand dollars a year in federal income tax, regardless of how much he or she earns?
Maybe they should also publish the names of all who get free money (food stamps, rent assistance, medicaid, welfare cash benefits, etc.) and ask for people to “turn in” those who cheat the sytems.

I work at Nike. Phil Knight and co and done a ton for Oregon - and probably not just Oregon. Not to mention the boost to the economy - he has funded the Phil Knight Cancer Institute and I know people who have directly benefited from him bringing the best talent he can find in the world to Oregon.
If Knight had no incentive for success none of this would have happened and if he had some how succeeded in spite of the government and our politicians siezed his money we could expect a couple more years funding of the post office or some other malfunctioning government program.
The protesters want to get paid for doing nothing - regardless of whether or not they’re able. What in history makes them think this will work? Nothing that I know of.
