Pretty sad when Ron Paul is polling higher than Perry.

A Cain/Newt ticket would be unconstitutional, I believe. The President and Vice President must come from different states.

A national Zogby poll this far out from multiple state primaries is worse than useless.

"The President and Vice President must come from different states."

If that's true it's news to me.

National popular sentiment won’t mean much if Cain can’t raise much more money than he has, develop more of an organization and somehow cover for the fact that in state after state his opposition will have political connections and access to entrenched netwoks that can help with GOTV and other election day matters.

Cain is playing in a fixed game in which 30 percent national popularity was good enough in 2008 if your name was McCain. He needs to build an entire campaign apparatus and begin to work on endorsements that can deliver for him on the ground on election day.

He could probably start getting these things in order by not spending half of his time in bookstores all over the country hawking his book.

Right now, he is bringing in $1 million/week. He has a presence in every state, staff/offices in critical states. He had over 100,000 volunteers at the end of the summer (who knows how many now?)

He has had a staff of 23 up to a few weeks ago, and added several more, including JD Gordon, former spokesperson for Rumsfeld/Pentagon.

He has quite a few sound endorsements, C Everett Koop, Alveda King, Jeff Jorgensen, Chip Rogers (State Rep - GA), Larry Ahern, State Representative (R-FL), Scott Plakon, State Representative (R-FL)[100], Rusty Kidd, State Representative (I-GA), Billy Maddox, State Representative (R-GA), Joshua McKoon, State Senator (R-GA), Jack Kimball, former chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party, 2010 New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate, Steven Smith, State Representative (R-NH), Dale Peterson, 2010 Republican candidate for Alabama Agriculture Commissioner, Tom Tancredo, former U.S. Congressman (R-CO), 2008 presidential candidate, and 2010 Colorado gubernatorial candidate., Michael D. Steele, retired U.S. Army Colonel, Actor Nick Searcy, Americans for Fair Taxation, Comedian and talk radio host Dennis Miller, Haley Barbour.

New Nashville-Based ‘Artists Raising Cain’ Organization Rallying Around Presidential Candidate Herman Cain - include Rick Monroe, Lee Greenwood, Michael W. Smith, Douglas Warren, Bryan White, Craig Wayne Boyd, Cutter Lee, Chad Rowland (Redstone), Charlotte Autry, Krista Branch, Adam Cunningham, Devon Rowe and Jim Labriola (Home Improvement, The Santa Claus).

“Almost” endorsements, Joe the Plumber, Donald Trump, Mark Levin, Huckabee,

Good Reviews of his plan: Art Laffer (Godfather of Reaganomics), Paul Ryan, Donald Trump, Kevin Hassett (Economist, American Enterprise Institute), Club for Growth

And he is not spending all his time on a book tour - he is campaigning as much (if not more) than he was before the book tour. However, the book does multiply his efforts in getting his name out there.

Well, I hope you’re right about Cain. But I see him as a guy who couldn’t win the Repuke nomination for Senate in Ga. He’s got a lotta balls running for prez, unless it’s all just a good way to sell a book. Or maybe he’s some kind of mad hatter whose found a way to get elected preisdent no one knew existed.

If that’s all you see him as, I doubt anyone can change your mind.

Times are different. People are paying attention and people are not okay with “status quo”. The energy his supporters has is palpable. He has boots on the ground and he has social media. I’ve to events all over and I haven’t see any candidate with the presence Cain has (tea party OR GOP events)

You might be interested to know that Cain won the Fulton GOP, Cherokee GOP, Cobb GOP, Gwinnett GOP, and several other county GOP straw polls AND won the statewide GOP in Perry, GA.

Well, when Cain gets the nomination you can revel in telling me you told me so. It’ll be a helluva better surprise than Odumbsky getting elected president in the first place!
