President Obama is paying close attention to the Occupy Wall Street movement - and has said he sympathizes with protesters' broad grievances - but for the first time a White House official has publicly touted the movement's "99 percent" slogan.
Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest, in a Sunday conference call briefing to outline details of Obama's three-day bus trip to North Carolina and Virginia, was asked if the president intended to address the growing protests that have sprouted up throughout the country and some cities in western Europe.
Earnest told scribes to stay tuned, adding that it was possible Obama would talk about the movement specifically but that he would acknowledge the "frustrations" of middle and working-class people who feel the rich haven't paid their fair share - or been penalized for the excesses that led to the financial crisis. The president, he said, will make sure "the interests of the 99 percent of Americans. are well-represented on the tour," the first reference I can find in which an Obama staffer specifically repeated the mantra.

I don’t understand why we don’t just seize the wealth of the top 1% and distribute it to the poor. The poor need it more than the rich. Woo hoo!! Presto!! All the 99 percenter problems are solved. Shoot, might as well take all the wealth from the top 50% and distribute it to the bottom 50% then we’ll ALL be rich!! Free lunch, free beer for all!! Vote for me!!

If the WH is going to try and harness this, we are in trouble come election time, perhaps before. Violence.

This is another historical first. This is the first time the President of the United States has given his imprimatur to hordes of rioting scum IN THE UNITED STATES. (Two Democrat presidential candidates tried it in 1968, Senators Eugene McCarthy and “Bobby” Kennedy.)

commander zero has a deep affinity for a handful of America hating, smelly hippy parasites. They are ‘his’ people and represent his base. He didn’t even notice the million strong Tea Party protest, probably because there were no arrests, injured cops or destruction
