The world according to polls, or some part of it anyway, is telling us that former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain is now the frontrunner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. The latest NBC News/Wall Street public opinion survey has him the choice of 27 percent of GOP primary voters asked, to 23 for Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and only 16 for Rick Perry of Texas. Is there anybody in the general audience willing to bet his first-born, or even second or third, that Mr. Cain will be his party's nominee next year, let alone be sitting in the Oval Office come January 2013? Mr. Cain himself jokes about being "the flavor of the month" -- he's Haagen-Dazs Black Walnut, he says. But history shows few such flavors ever survive the long haul.
The last true presidential long shot who did was former one-term Governor Jimmy Carter of Georgia in 1976. He camped out in Iowa for most of a year, won a surprise caucus victory kicking off the process and went on from there. The Carter phenomenon thereafter encouraged a host of other gamblers, but no other has since succeeded.

Seems like it wouldn't take long to mark up Neil Kinnock's biography, and then get back to his day job.
So whose biography did he use?
Mr. Witcover doesn’t appear to like Herman Cain, but I would bet he has his nose up Elijah Cummings posterior.
Would I bet my first of second born the Cain will be our nominee? Would Mr. Witcover bet his childs life that Obama is the son of Obama Sr?

DOn’t let the media characterize the Republican nomination process. They are doing their very best to diminish it.
Cain has been on a steady path upward, that is not flavor of the month. Since the first televised debate in South Carolina, the focus group in the studio, even though they may have been for another candidate when they walked in, voted overwhelmingly for Herman Cain after the debate. And it has only grown since.

He is a straight talking, no BS kind of guy, that admits there are a lot of details that he doesn't know {who knows everything?} but that he has been studying and learning.
He is honest, and as far as the msm can tell, has never cheated on his wife, doesn't screw the family pet, has been cured of cancer {but that will be an INFLATED ISSUE}, goes to a real Christian Church {not presided over by Rev. Wright}, and has no skeletons {as yet}.
The snarks at msnbc are calling him the token black, and saying that he is only there to make us feel good and prove that we are not racist.
No matter what we do, the left will twist it to fit their convoluted view of the world.
I don't care what the lefties think or say, my beliefs and actions are not going to be effected by their views.
Besides, Perry, guess which candidate has been taking fundraising seriously to have the amunition required for the "Ad Wars" that will rip a catchy debate sound bite to shreds.

Guess which candidate is only doing what it takes be the next Sarah Palin with lucrative speaking fees, book sales and FOX News contracts while leaving the GOP nomination to his old pal, Mitt Romney.
Once again, conservatives are totally infatuated by a "Sound Bite Machine" without ever noticing that they are being played by somebody that is focusing their energies on selling books rather than focusing on what it takes to fight and win a prolonged electoral war.
I warned about Sarah Palin and I am warning about Cain now:
A campaign war chest is the "beans and bullets" of a serious electoral war. If you want to know if a candidate is truly serious about fighting to win, pay attention to how much attention they are paying to the logistics required to win. Without logistics, all the talk of "strategy" worthy of Sun Tzu is just ridiculous self delusion.

Which flavor would I prefer? A new "Haagen-Dazs Black Walnut", or a thin layer of Republican vanilla served over old fashioned Massachusetts manure? That's a pretty easy choice.

What the heck?? Who would have ever thought some little known senator from Chicago would be in the White House at this point in time, really? Most people would have bet on Hillary Clinton being the Democrat candidate at this point in time during the last election cycle.
