I'm a fan of automotive innovation. I'd have liked to see what the Volt might have become had government pressure not caused it to be released a couple years too early.

And I think I like this Congress-critter. He's not so scared of government motors (the source of his family's wealth) that he won't say what he thinks.

This is why we need more business men in Washington. Not lawyers or from academia but people with real business experience.

Someone explain the laws of engineering and chemistry to the Green Marxists.

Just because you "plug it in" does not mean you didn't burn fossil fuels to get that electricity!

"Honey! Did you or the kids borrow my charger again?"

It needed to become average, as in “average selling price of a car.”

The average selling price of a car in the US is around $28K.

For the price of a Volt, I can get into the low end of the luxury sedan market, something like an Audi A4, which if I get the Audi diesel, will get better mileage than the Volt.

If you build it, they won’t come (if it’s a stupid idea in the 1st place)

It would have become ... nothing.

What's interesting is that this month's issue of Car and Driver had an article comparing the Volt with the Chevrolet Cruze Eco. They said the Cruze Eco is a better choice, mostly because of the far lower initial buying cost and the fact if driven reasonably over 40 mpg on the freeway is not that hard to achieve.

Remember this post...

I have been following all the tea leaves and end trails of all the bits and pieces on the web that will become the next generation Ford Fusion, to be unveiled a the NAIAS this Jan. 012'.

IMHO it will kick the Volts @$$ from here to kingdom come and will make it look like rotten cheese.

I can't wait...

So what happens when three or more of these DOLT mobiles show up at a charging station at the same time and don't they take hours to recharge? There's news story I read where this 115yo electric car that still runs and is still used goes 40 miles on a charge. Way to go GM!
