Politico's Allen: 'Very Ruthless' Romney Campaign 'Roped In' Christie
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

How does the liberal media turn a positive for a Republican front-runner into a negative? Ask Mike Allen of Politico. Instead of focusing on the political pluses of Chris Christie's endorsement of Mitt Romney, Allen has twisted the event into a negative that revealed the "very ruthless" efficiency of the Romney campaign. Moreover, if there's a politician around today who thinks for himself, it's Christie. Yet Allen insinuated that rather than making a reasoned decision, Christie was "roped" into endorsing Romney.

Allen made his sour-grape remarks on today's Morning Joe.

I am having second thoughts about if Christie should have run, If he did he may have split the RINO vote and given Romney a contest to get them unlike the others who seem to ignore him except maybe Perry.

Otherwise as I stated before, a governor of a liberal state is NOT what we need as a candidate, not Romney and not Christie.

Yes it looks like we are going to have to go another christmas without a pony under the tree. Instead it will be a used bike. (Most of us have been there)
But by spring it will look like new,and will be proud as hell of it.
Romney/Cain ticket is good enough for me.
I honestley think Romney suffers from Stockholm syndrome being a decent govenor of Ma. with his state legislature being 95% not just democrats but Obama type democrats.
This experience will serve him well in the general election campaign.

If Romney is on the ticket, we work
against the GOP, too.

Can’t watch FOX anymore. 99% of their programming is left of where I am on the spectrum. I don’t even think “they are better than the others” anymore. I prefer to watch a liberal that lets you know up front where they are coming from.

FOX is more insidious - they are the RINO elite - condescending to real conservatives, but always pushing for the RINO of the bunch! It’s absolutely obvious.

If real conservatives stopped watching FOX, their ratings would drop significantly.

Did anyone else cringe everytime Romney used the word “fundamentally” during lastnights debate?

I am not a Romney supporter in the primary because he is the establishment candidate. I would support him in the general but that would mean once again I am forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. Unfortunately Romney’s campaign knows there are many more like me.

Mike Allen can suck it. He is a Hussein worshipper, and will attack WHOEVER he perceives as a threat to his little tin god Hussein.

Endorsement, generally, are meaningless. However, insofar as they have any meaning, you fool yourself to think that Christie’s support doesn’t affect a certain branch of the GOP. It may not sway any FReepers, but that doesn’t constitute the entire primary-voting GOP by a long shot.

Whatever people think of Romney, here is a prime example of the liberal media trying to throw cold water on a Republican.

Is your comment intended to elicit sympathy for the back-biting Romney on FR? If so,

Not trying to elicit sympathy for Romney. To contrary, saying that even if you don’t like Romney, it’s useful to be aware of the tactics the liberal media use try to shoot down any Republican. Next time around, it could well be the candidate you favor who comes in for this kind of treatment.

PS: heck of a photo!

Let’s just say that big tub of guts endorsed exactly the person I expected someone like him would endorse.

Well put. He and NJ are made for each other.
