Herman Cain woke up Tuesday to another day of soaring polling numbers, showing him moving into second place behind Mitt Romney and pushing Rick Perry out of the spotlight.

The day ended with the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO under attack from his rivals, both on stage and in a series of post-debate press releases meant to tear him down.

But from his new center-stage spot next to Mitt Romney, Cain calmly weathered every jab from them, the moderators and even the Democrats, walking out from the Dartmouth auditorium having done little to hurt his standing.

9-9-9 is absolutely toxic. You’ll see.

I can see the obama ads now...

That's right. Cain IS 9-9-9, and it's the one scenario where Obama can clearly win.

When Santorum did that, I cringed. It was a brilliant move and I think it harmed Cain... a LOT!! When it happened I found myself hoping not many people were watching the debate.

Don't you worry. The truth will out, and Cain will go down with his dumb plan. I cheered Santorum.

By the way, I trash any and all the candidates. That includes the Shill, The Dunce, The Ditz, the Ego, The Kook, The Tea Taxer, and anyone else I forgot.

I have opened my thinking to him but I don’t know if I can open it wide enough to want him for President.

Me either. But it's slim pickens.

Ron Paul is not pro-liberty. He follows a system of beliefs that holds that it is morally superior to stand aside while your neighbors slaughter each other than to attempt to regulate that sort of thing.

Sorry ~ Liberalism, Libertarianism and Libertinism have no attraction at all for civilized people.

He has to somehow unchain himself from 999.

I don’t mean he has to drop it, but he has to make it less like the only way to vote for Cain is if you agree with 999.

That’s a LOSING proposition for Cain.

He’s supposed to be a well-rounded CANDIDATE, not a freaking TAX PACKAGE.

How many people believe that we’ll keep the income tax at 9 percent? Anybody?

I thought Cain missed a huge opportunity with that one. He should have come back with "How many people love the current tax system? Anybody?" Then "How many people worry about getting audited by the IRS and having their life destroyed? Lots of people."

The fact that people are still wary about Cain's plan doesn't mean the like the current system.

Cain IS 9-9-9. No way he can disconnect. And it’s toxic.

Cain needs to emphasize that his plan is the only one that fixes this problem:

What's the country going to be like when 55-60% of voters pay no income taxes, yet can vote themselves benefits. It will be like having the Occupy Wall Street crown in charge.

LOL. No, it wasn’t devastating. The lst poll out of Nh had Cain in second. The way Santorum couched the question was why he got the answer he got from the crowd....when Cain said it was based on a false premise, he blasted Santorum out of the water. The irony, nobody on here understands the 9-9-9 plan. Cain didn’t do badly last night, and he didn’t lost a lot of supporters. These Perry people who try to tell you that forget that Cain has around a 30 positive intensity score...his supporters aren’t going anywhere.

Let’s cut cut cut the IRS! Wouldn’t that be nice! A nice flat tax would be wonderful!! The sales tax could exempt certain items like diapers....things that make sense. Poor people would still have deductions and get back at least one of those 9’s and we pay for that with the savings from not having to run and pay for the IRS....BHAAAAaaaaaaaaaHAAA!

Huck, get a grip. It’s a PLAN. 999 ain’t going to happen. No way, now how. It’s like a candidate saying they are going to abolish the Dept. of Education. But it IS a plan. Are you a one issue voter? No? Then why trash Cain? The estabishment pubbies do have some say in the process and whoever the next republican president is going to have to deal with that. Mittens is simply going to do whatever those criminals say.

You’re feeding into the “republicans eating their own” trap. Trash everybody if you want to, but that is exactly what the media and the dems are counting on. Damn!!!

999 ain’t going to happen

I wish I had 9 cents for every time I heard this. Sure, his signature economic plan is a turkey. But don't worry. It's all BS!
