I think back to1968 and the riots at the Democratic convention. That and the race riots that year and two preceeding years sure didn’t help the Dems. They lost the Presidency getting 43%of the vote.

IMO, zero is laying the foundation for suspending the election next year. The Occupy Stupidity folks haven’t moved yet, because they haven’t been given the signal to move by zero.
But, it’s coming. And those of you who don’t have guns and a good supply of ammo are going to be robbed, looted and mauled by these people. We’re not talking about America’s brain trust, here, we’re talking about people who think zero is still going to buy their gas and pay their mortgage!!

Despite the scare tactic press coverage, Zero’s Zombies lack the numbers. The rehearsal run in Wisconsin proved that. The locations impacted appear to be in or near Zero strongholds. Right now, the Unions are paying the bills, but if Zero doesn’t get some Stimulus walkin’ around money, that support may to become an angry mob looking for him.
Of course we can expect the public unions to support Zero to the bitter end. Competency and Unionized Public Employees are antonyms. The end of public unions is a first step toward regaining our freedom from regulation.

Now, let me ask you this — are they willing now to say the same thing about the Pentagon? Because they have been war-gaming an economic crisis for almost two years now. One of these war games was called Unified Quest 2011.

Given what I’ve seen the military leadership do in the last 2 years, I don’t think we would see that at all. I think we’d see the military bend over and take whatever Obama wanted to give them. And law enforcement too. I think we’re on our own when TSHTF.
Like Arizona is on their own when it comes to defending the country against drug cartels patterned after Al Qaeda, armed by the ATF, and made off-limits to the border patrol by Eric Holder. When you’ve got no-go areas in Arizona that have already basically been ceded to the druglords and the Dept of Injustice won’t let you enforce the border, you’re pretty much on your own - and frequent beheadings are, IMHO, “the sh!t hitting the fan”.
Look at history. Just before our Civil War, the country was divided between states and federal superiority, slave state and free state and new states coming in tipping the balance.
We have the same situation, health care that is going to mandate loss of conscience and make permanent abortion, gay marriage, don’t ask don’t tell repeal,....reagonomics to fix the hole or socialism,.......half of the country on government dole....ticked off citizens on both sides of the debate...and assault weapons available from our ATF via Mexico....
We need to pray more. The last one didn’t settle the issues very well at all, just diverted our attention and got enough change and hurt spread around to quiet the immediate points until reconstruction ended.
I don’t have the link for it right now, but Yuri Bezmenov had an interview where he described the communist steps for subverting and taking over a nation. I’ll give some excerpts from the transcript I typed before the 2008 election:

Obama’s people have been destabilizing the foundatons of this country for as long as they have been implementing Cloward-Piven. Two of the planks in that plan were actually implemented specifically by the young lawyer in Chicago, Barack Obama: the motor voter plan to degrade the integrity of the democratic process, and threats to the bankers if they didn’t fill racial quotas by giving out subprime loans. Those two lawyerly projects were the only 2 legal accomplishments Obama had as a lawyer, and they were both critical wounds to the electoral and economic infrastructure which would eventually enable the country to be destabilized to the point it is now. Barack Obama specifically laid the landmines that have allowed for elections to be stolen and the economy to be fragile enough that somebody like Soros could make a run on the bank and wreak havoc on everybody’s financial future.
The whole point of Cloward-Piven was to reach a point where people were ripe to believe that capitalism doesn’t work. And right after the September 2008 run on the bank we heard Chavez and Castro saying that the world should try communism, SINCE CAPITALISM HAD FAILED. We heard Ahmadinejad and Zawahiri saying that SINCE CAPITALISM HAD FAILED, the world should try Islamic finance. We heard George W Bush saying that if TARP wasn’t passed the entire western, capitalist world would collapse. There was definitely a template there, and the terminology used reflected the sources of that run on the bank, IMHO: the communist and Islamist allies of George Soros and his puppet, Barack Obama. Congress declared martial law briefly so they could attempt to pass emergency legislation in response to the “crisis” (which Emanuel says you should never “let go to waste”). They didn’t pass that legislation; it took months for them to pass TARP and still no financial armageddon. The financial armageddon would only come if 500 billion dollars’ worth of payoffs (to primarily foreign, shariah-compliant banks that had contributed to the dems and ACORN) weren’t approved by Congress.
So they didn’t get their full-blown crisis at that point. They got Obama in office, though, so he could further destabilize things - only this time they knew they would have to destabilize right down to the local levels, because the investors themselves weren’t spooked to the point that they ever gave in to riots and downright communist takeover.
So with Obama in office they have had access to destabilize the critical infrastructure: law enforcement (think Eric Holder in charge of all law enforcement to embolden “his people” and arm the drug cartels while making sure that our southern border is and always will be wide open), media, the courts, takeover of entire industries such as auto, energy, farming, and healthcare, military, and accountability (replace honest inspectors general and give all power to unelected, unaccountable “czars” and regulators).
From there it simply becomes a game of agitation, which is what Obama is all about. Squeeze people economically by killing the economy and taxing the people to death, keep law enforcement from enforcing the law and protecting the people while being inundated with both Islamic and druglord terrorists, and when the tinder is good and dry, have your subversive allies (the ACORN, union, communist, etc thugs) light a match. Send a Twitter to start flash mobs, or give the signal to the SEIU etc by having Joe Biden and Jimmy Hoffa Jr use violent rhetoric in the same weekend...
What some of us have said for a while now is that when Obama can no longer hide his crimes against this country, he will have nothing to lose, and that is when we enter really, really dangerous territory. Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Obama’s latest birth certificate forgery, etc are blowing the cover off of Obama and his entire administration. It’s time now for the revolution they’ve been working on for decades. The tinder is dry and now they are planning to light a match and set the place on fire - before any election comes along to take Obama out.
This is an extremely critical time. A group called “Anonymous” hacking to take the New York Stock Exchange off the web (which they say they will do on Oct 10th, IIRC) may be the match they intend to light the place on fire. I really wonder if Oct 10th - or whatever day this thing is supposed to happen on - has any particular significance in the Islamic world.
The protests - like you say - are mostly fringe and would involve leftists against leftists. But if it provides an excuse for Anonymous to light the match, that match will impact the entire country.
Sorry for taking so long to get to your point. I think some of the background is vital for understanding the overall scheme though - if not for you, then for those who don’t understand that background.
