“Why?

If 0bama’s policies are similar to Hitlers, why not?

The liberals compared Bush to Hitler all the time. IMHO they had no basis for it.”

Wrong is wrong. Because they did it, doesn’t mean we should do it. Hitler has a very special place in history, and in Hell. Comparing anyone to Hitler, aside from the likes of Stalin, Mao, etc, is not wise.

Now if you compare Obama to Hugo Chavez, you’re on much more solid ground.

Meanwhile Madonna, who compared John McCain to Hitler in 2008, is rewarded with the Super Bowl halftime show this year.

Hank is so much more relevant than ABC and MNF that it’s laughable. Better for him. He shouldn’t have apologized; he should have upped the ante.

With that said, if what he said has to be explained or clarified, he’s already lost the argument.

Absolutely...this is so similar to the furor rising up about Cain's statements. The media wants to be manipulated...it is not the forum for brash plain talking, that is something best left for the bar.

Had Williams said "damn, that's like the Eagles and the Cowboys getting together to play golf" everyone would have had a great laugh about it. Whatever happened to being savvy and wise when dealing with a serpent, which is what the media is?

*** I seriously doubt 50% would have been irritated, but the liberals understand that ‘he with the loudest mouth is the one that wins.’ ***

Ok, pick a percentage. 20%? Do you want to irritate/alienate 20% of your customer base?

I get that it was not a direct comparison, but there is such a thing as connotation, and implication.

I just think it’s a hideously bad idea to mention Hitler in the same breath as the president, if you’re a public front for a company.

Now that Hank has no affiliation, he’s free to say that all he wants. A little less cash flow, but more freedom.

“but still its a lil ironic who gets whacked and who dont”

Well, first off, it’s a bit non sequitur. You’ve put a candidate, a president, ESPN and the NFL all in one lump.

I agree, there are different standards for conservatives, and it infuriates me. However, in this case, there’s a clear right and wrong. And while a lefty wouldn’t be held to this standard, it doesn’t make it any less wrong.

Found this:

Madonna kicked off her Sticky & Sweet Tour in the U.K. Saturday, and stirred up a beehive of controversy by comparing Republican presidential nominee John McCain to Adolf Hitler in a video montage during the show.

During the song “Get Stupid,” Madonna flashed images of McCain alongside photos of Hitler and brutal Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, as well as images of destruction and global warming, according to British paper The Times.

By contrast, in the next segment of the performance, she used the image of Democratic nominee Barack Obama alongside pictures of John Lennon, Mahatma Ghandi and Al Gore.

McCain spokesperson Tucker Bounds for was quick to respond to the slam, and pursued the Obama-as-celebrity tack the campaign has employed in recent weeks.

“The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time,” he said. “It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits.”

“What? When?”

Really?

Some of the things you cite are a bit of a stretch. Did Hitler have the equivalent of Fox news? If this were Hitler’s Germany, how many Freepers would still be alive?

I would agree that Obama uses a lot of the Nazi propaganda tactics. I have no love for Obama, but I was in the military, where you respect the uniform, not the man. I respect the office, not the office holder.

And, to answer your question, I’ll join the militia when/if the 2012 elections are postponed. And I would bet a large sum of money that I won’t need to join a militia.

“You don’t have a clue my friend.”

I’d have to say that’s projection on your part.

Hank Williams was the best part of Monday Night. The left has to silence effective communicators for fear that the stupid masses they ( the left ) control will become informed. All the more evidence of what these people really want.

BS. ESPN forfeited it's “only sports” motto when they broadcast part of the inauguration of Pres. Urkel

And about the ones that you think are not a stretch?

I don't watch Fox News anymore. I don't see much difference between it and the others.

This is not 1943. It is 1933.

I get it. You think you are the smartest guy in the room.

Do me a favor and produce the quote where Williams called Obama Hitler.

I wasn’t “projecting” anything. I am simply calling YOU, brownsfan, clueless. Your facts are wrong and still you persist in building a narrative around them. Amazing.

Here is some projection: Don’t worry about being wrong. Your the smartest guy in the room.

LOL!

I remember “Three Stooges” dialogue where Moe asks Larry:
“Do you think?” and Larry responds: “I don’t think... I know!” Moe slaps him across the face and says: “I don’t think you know either.”

The “think” and “know” in your reply brought it to mind.

Not to mention that it’s wrong to compare the President to Hitler, even if it is Obama.

Except he didn't. He was railroaded.

Great stuff, I love the Stooges, at least the vintage ones, before Curly Joe.

Made me smile thinking of them!
