Trotta seemed to think that McGinnins is a wonderful author - she didn't understand why other media sources were condemning the book.
Trotta has always badmouthed Gov. Palin.

I agree about FoxNews. One or two years ago I never would have predicted that I’d be so disgusted with the network that I would all but stop watching it. But it’s truly getting to that point. It used to practically be a default position for my tv-set to be tuned into, but it’s turned so unwatchable in recent months, I just sample a few bits and pieces, every now and then. My viewership of the channel has dropped at very least 80%.

Yes—I’m still fuming. I knew from the juxtaposed names - McGinniss/Trotta - what was coming. This isn’t the first time she’s shown her disdain for SP. Trotta said that many had criticised McG for his failure to use named sources for much of his material. Defending him, she said that he hadn’t used named sources for his first book, The Selling of the President 1968, or in his later book on convicted wife-murderer MacDonald. But neither, she said, did the great Woodward & Bernstein use named sources. She also chose to read excerpts from an Alaskan rag that apparently supported McGinniss’s claim that both Palins had snorted coke at or on an oil drum. She couldn’t possibly have inserted more venom into the (thankfully) brief interview.
BUT Fox chose to run this.
P. S. Her claim about McG’s failure to use named sources fails completely when applied to The Selling of the President. (Wish I could find my copy—but if McG has a relationship with Roger Ailes, it began there.)
I’m done with Fox News. I can get my news from the internet and CNN when necessary. I guess Old Liz forgot to mention that McGinnis (and Random Souse) knew they were publishing lies! Liz Trott-ah can kiss my White Irish ass in Macy’s department store window on Thanksgiving day!
I turned on Fox News today only to see them talking about that tabloid trash book..first thing out of my mouth was “I see Fox News has officially gone into the gutter” not a surprise. Fox News has been campaigning for Mitt Romney since the beginning..and as far as Liz Trotta goes, I will NEVER EVER forgive her for trashing baby Trig and calling him the R word many months ago, she is despicable
Liz Trotta many months ago called Trig Palin the “R” word, its not even worth repeating here, we all know what the word is. I wont be watching Fox News anymore, I will watch the Fox Business Network but as far as Fox News is concerned, I wont be wasting my time with them anymore. I will just get my news from here. When I hear liberals say that Fox News is a “conservative” network, I laugh in their face. Fox News is “Center-left” they may be more balanced then the other networks, but they lean left, they support Romney for President. They mind as well wear campaign t-shirts
I’m sick of Fox giving equal weight between insane arguments and traditional American positions. I get really sick of the arguing. Yeah, fair and balanced ...yakity yak.
Should there be an equal debate between a pedophile and a non-pedophile? NO and that’s how I feel about a lot of what I hear on their stupid programs.
It does seem that something has changed at FOX - maybe they were just never the conservatives we all thought and now the Tea Party has shown them for what they are - RINOS at best.
I nearly gagged when I saw Liz Trotta on Fox this morning talking about this book. She managed to work the most salacious details of the book into her "reporting". She expressed dismay that the media wasn't giving the book or McGinnis air time. She said one of the main complaints about the book was that it relied on anonymous sources. She said that using anonymous sources is a "time honored journalistic tradition." She also said that McGinnis's "Fatal Vision" was an excellent book.
I think Fox News is lining up some truly disgusting payback for Sarah Palin having the "audacity" to take a few swipes at Fox News lately.
Just as you say, if Fox News wasn't covering this book, nobody else would be.

I think what Fox News did this morning was send Sarah Palin a message that she is no longer welcome at Fox News. I think this is the main reason why Sarah has NOT announced she is running for President yet..she wants out of Fox before she does so. She knows that Fox News is in the tank for Romney, they mind as well wear campaign buttons on their shirts while reporting the news. Ailes and McGinnis are friends, notice how Sarah has been going after Fox since the book came out, she knows that Ailes and McGinnis are buddy buddy and she knows the fix is in. This book came out weeks ago, how come Fox News decided today to report on this “New” book..its NOT new..its weeks old..but they chose today to report on it, to read an Alaska Dispatch article from September 24th, to trash Sarah Palin
