First lady Michelle Obama says her husband deserves re-election not only for his first term accomplishments and vision for the future, but because of his genuine empathy for families dealing with tough economic times.
He understands these issues, not just because hes smart but because hes lived them, Obama told a group of 100 campaign donors at a $2,500-a-plate luncheon in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
He was raised by a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. And when she needed help, who stepped in? His grandmother, waking up early every morning to take a bus to her job at the bank, she said.
Michelle Obama said a young Barack Obama learned to understand the sacrifices his grandmother made in raising him and the prejudices she endured as a woman.
Believe me, Barack knows what it means when a family struggles, she said. He knows what it means when someone doesnt have a chance to fulfill their potential.
The first lady said Obamas upbringing has allowed him to identify with the stories of thousands of Americans who write to the president about their situations and speak with him personally at events around the county. She said those stories motivate him and influence his decisions in office...

This explains everything now.
Because he lived in misery he now believes that the rest of us should
I bet she wearing her boob belt during this speech-that’s the only thing that would make sense for ‘miss fly off to spain’ with entourage of family and friends to a 5 - star hotel and jetting off to Copenhagen w/friends groveling for the Olympics to make their friends richer - all on our shirtless back.
Where’s that fly that usually hangs around him?
Yeah kinda creepy that fly on his lip. AND HE DOESNT EVEN SWAT AT IT. Then he grabs a fly mid air in an interview. Then a rat runs across the front of his podium. Demonic comes to mind.
Yep. Times were tough back when he was born a poor child in Kenya.
******
Keeping the above statement in mind, could someone please explain to me again how Hawaiian teenager Obama---whose family seemed to be struggling financially, if we are to believe the statement above---was able to pay his expenses at private and selective Occidental College in California during the two years Obama was a student there.
For instance, did student loans pay for Obama's expenses for those two years? Thanks.
Not to mention his high school Punahou which is an exclusive private school that only the very well connected and rich get into.
Looks more like demonic..
Looks more like demonic..
For a second there I thought I was reading the opening lines from Steve Martin’s Movie The Jerk.
“I was born a poor Black child”...
That left me waiting for another famous line from the Movie, “Son, don’t never, ever trust Whitey”.
Seems like something that would come from the Dear Leader’s Wife. After all, she is proud of her Country, now...

The only “economic struggles” that Obama has ever faced were those of an economic text book written by Saul Alinsky : Reveille for Radicals (1945) and Rules for Radicals (1971).
This President has expended more money hiding his formative years and academic background than any other President. Inquireing minds ask .. “why “ ??
Too bad he doesn’t know what it means to have a real job. The gay do nothing president needs to be defeated.
Hustling on the streets a rough way of life that prepares you to hate your country pretty fast. Yet, he still likes Bath houses!
Yes and don’t forget the swarm of bees as he tried to enter the WH! I’d like to know what we didn’t hear about!
No way she said.
he deserves re-election not only for his first term accomplishments.
BS yes.
Who paid for Columbia? Who paid for Harvard? Who paid for the other places he was educated? Who bought his house in Chicago? Who gave him the lecturer job in Illinois? Who gave her that $300K job to try and keep poor people away from the University Medical Hospital? Who paid for everything he’s gotten?
LOL!
Buck the Ofamas and their horse sh%t stories.
Enough! when do we get this election on the road
Not to mention step dad had a nice position in an oil company who’s duty was to entertain American oilmen. Now, you can’t live in squalor while hosting these bigwigs. Then there’s all the jetting back and forth between Indonesia and the US and wherever SADO was off to. And granny was the Vice President of the bank. Yeah, if that’s poverty, then sign me up.
These people string words together that have no foundation in the truth. Obama might know what it means to SEE struggle, but only because he observed others struggling, not his family. And as far as someone fulfilling their potential...well, his mother did exactly as and what she wanted; moved where she wanted; held jobs she wanted, and no one stood in her way. His grandmother held a good job with a bank and lived very well in Hawaii. And, of course, he went to the best schools, became a senator and now is the invader in our White House. Hardly seems there was a problem in his family with people fulfilling their potentials. (Although it is obvious and most finally agree that BO's potential was excessively over rated). So whatever Obama "knows" it is not from personal experience.
Yes, after being raised by a tranny nanny in Indonesia and dumped by his “mother” at age 10, Barry was raised in the mean streets of Punahou, Occidental, Columbia and Harvard,
while never working a day in his life - until being installed as a community organizer by rich white liberals, paying him with rich guilty liberal Foundation money.
Believe us, he knows the struggle.
Just why doesn’t mooch-elle, the “worst” lady, just stfu? Does anyone care what this affirmative-action, equal-opportunity grifter has to say about anything? What a self-important boob.

But she's so well-endowed, she wouldn't feel it.
He was raised by a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. And when she needed help, who stepped in? His grandmother, waking up early every morning to take a bus to her job at the bank
So not the Government?
I am already envisioning the Presidential debate with Herman Cain at the podium.
And while they’re at it, they can contrast the dreams of Herman Cain’s father to the current occupant’s.
Nobody knows the answers to your questions but thank you for axing.
My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin’ on the porch with my family, singin’ and dancin’ down in Mississippi.
The misery of a top private school and two Ivy League programs he wasn’t qualified for.
Cut him some slack... in Dreams from My Father he admitted he couldn’t always afford cocaine.
“I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.”
Far out, man. This is a dude that has a history. Nice.
We know he sure as hell isn’t making the money he flits away at the golf courses he shuts down to play at.
Apparently he's a flipping expert, because now he's created economic struggles for most Americans where there was none before!
Am I the only one to see the hypocrisy of claiming to feel for people during tough economic times at a $2500 a plate dinner?

“....Nevertheless, because fully to know where anyone is going requires grasping whence he comes, let us open ourselves to wonder how, minus miracles, a 10-year-old boy without obvious talent who had lived in Indonesia since age six ends up with an eight-year scholarship to Hawaii’s most exclusive school; a scholarship to Occidental College; a transfer into Columbia University; acceptance into Harvard Law School, and editorship of its law review; and how he goes from job to prestigious job without apparently mastering any of the previous ones. No wonder some of Barack Obama’s supporters treat him as if he were anointed by an extraterrestrial power. “
.......................
His mother’s parents, who raised him, seem to have been cogs in the U.S. government’s well-heeled, well-connected machine for influencing the world, whether openly (”gray influence”) or covertly (”black operations”). His mother spent her life and marriages, and birthed her children, working in that machine. For paradigms of young Barack’s demeanor, proclivities, opinions, language, and attitudes one need look no further than the persons who ran the institutions that his mother and grandparents servede.g., the Ford Foundation, the United States Information Agency, and the Central Intelligence Agencyas well as his chosen mentors and colleagues.
.......................
In sum, though the only evidence available is circumstantial, Barack Obama, Jr.’s mother, father, stepfather, grandmother, and grandfather seem to have been well connected, body and soul, with the U.S. government’s then extensive and well-financed trans-public-private influence operations.
>>He Knows Economic Struggles,
Right. His white liberal activist [redacted] mother... who met his daddy whilst learning Russian... so deprived him of the finer things in life whilst she was a Useful Idiot for the Ford Foundation. Uhuh.
What about Subprime pioneer Penny Pritzker - did she “struggle” too, when she was financing his campaign?
You really have a way with words!
Don’t forget his luxury visits to Pah-kee-stahn.
He has an amazing memory to remember this. When he left for Indonesia, he was just 6 years and 2 days old.
When he retirned to Hawaii, his grandmother was vice-President of the bank. She also been VP of Mercer Island Bank, Washington from 1955, so her years as a lowly bank clerk in Hawaii after 1960 were probably short. Did I say he has an amazing memory?
He was raised by a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. And when she needed help, who stepped in?
The Communist Party
Boy the $hit is getting deep here.
Yeh his mother raised him til he was 10 and then dumped him on the grandparents and kept on truckin.
He remembers his rasist grandmother acting like a typical white person expressing fears of being harrassed by black dudes at the bus stop.
He remembers his grandma living in guarded seclusion during his campaign
He remembers his grandmother’s death (no comment)
He remembers the way he managed to squeeze in a memorial service for his grandma as part of his Christmas vacay
