MTV Rejects Obama Campaign’s Request to Help President Connect with Young Voters

In what seems an unthinkable move, MTV — the network that hosted a youth town hall last October called “A Conversation With President Obama“ and made ”Rock the Vote” famous — has reportedly declined a request by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign to help the president connect with young Americans. What’s more, the network allegedly did so on the grounds that it does not get involved with political campaigns.

According to the New York Post, Obama’s Get Out the Vote campaign, run by Buffy Wicks, feared that the high unemployment rate among millennials will turn young voters off to the president.

This is the most hilarious thing ever. MTV doesn't get involved with "Political Campaigns". Yeah right.

Things are bad for the Regime when MTV doesn't want to get near Obummer because he is radioactive.

You’re right; I’m sure MTV realized they had gone from being what they perceived themselves as (a voice for progreesive youth) to tools of an incompetent token minority that represents (at best) 13% of the population (actually more like 10%).

The media (MTV included) realize what they lost by supporting this Marxist idiot, and would now be content to grab back 1% of their market share they lost.

They probably figured they’d have an awful hard time turning down Herman Cain if they stepped up to the plate for Barack Obama.

Well, I am sure the regime will be making their displeasure known...

just like they did with Ford when Ford ran advertisements that their company did not take bailout money, etc....

MTV should be expecting a call soon :(

I was looking for a song on youtube and was greeted with a commercial pushing the Obama jobs plan before the song. YUCK, at least it had a skip this ad button!

That was actually The Firm, and yes, he was in it.

If MTV would actually show music videos, they might find more people would watch them.

I don't think anyone under the age of 30 knows that MTV was strictly music back in the day. I think most of them think it is just a really hip, liberal CNN with reality shows.

In the end it’s about the pocketbook. MTV knows which way the political winds are blowing and it doesn’t want to alienate a chunk of its base, however small the chunk.
