NewsBusters ^ | 27 Sep 2011 | Scott Whitlock

Posted on 09/27/2011 4:28:18 PM PDT by mandaladon

During an appearance on Morning Joe, Tuesday, Newsweek editor Tina Brown made an off-hand remark about Barack Obama, conceding that the politician "wasn't ready" to be President. Brown has previously attacked Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives for daring to oppose the Obama

While discussing whether New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will change his mind and run for President, the former New Yorker editor blurted, "Actually, I just hope he doesn't, because in the end, you know, his tremendous misgivings, maybe he is right. I mean, We had this with Obama. He wasn't ready, it turns out, really."

because of his upbringing, warped ideology and complete lack of any meaningful experience or achievement not based on affirmative action, zero will never be ready.

the democrat progressives have a delemma on their hands:

they’re discovering that their “intelligent” 2008 president

has turned out to be incompetent and stupid and an anti-semite.

how to get rid of the first black president without being called a “racist”?

It took this liberal idiot this long to realize what most knew from the start.

They've conveniently "figured it out" just in time to be able to now argue that he's had some experience so he's fit for another term, and that his opponent "isn't ready", because of a lack of experience.

"...We had this with Obama. He wasn't ready, it turns out, really."

Ahh...I see how they are going to play it.
'Obama wasn't ready in 2008 [which is why the economy, foreign relations, and in general 'everything that government touches' - is messed up], but NOW he is battle tested and wise and more than ready'...
Yeah, right...
Better try: 'Obama wasn't ready in 2008. He's not ready now. He'll never be ready. The man-child hasn't worked a day in his life, nor achieved anything that wasn't the result of Affirmative Action pass aheads...'

He is a no-account marxist atheist who apparently has a pleasing reading voice and smile. Yippers, get him a job as a news reader on some UHF station...

I would disagree with this liberal idiot, Tina Brown.
Obama WAS ready to be President.
The Democratic Party that rolled the dice on him to the
exclusion of all others, including Hillary Clinton, was
MORE than ready for him to be President.
It proved to be a gross miscalculation on BOTH their parts,
because ultimately the American electorate will decide,
including hefty numbers who voted for him in ‘08, that they WON’T make that mistake again.
Come right down to it, and it was even people like CHarles Krauthammer, halway through the ‘08 campaign who were saying
the same thing Brown is saying now: that Obama was not ready to be President, (but that he might, or the country might, be ready in 2012.) Looks like Krauthammer lacked all prescience in ‘08, and Brown even lacks it even now “in hindsight”.

While O wasn’t “ready”, neither were those surrounding him. The more sinister possibility is that the destruction of American exceptionlism and the still somewhat capitalist economy has been the goal all along. Now, Hillary steps in to “save” the day.

Obama isn’t unqualified due to lack of experience. He is unqualified (as is the case with most Affirmative Action wonders) due to lack of ability. If he was sufficiently able, he wouldn’t have needed Affirmative Action. Duh.

Obama WAS ready to be President. The Democratic Party that rolled the dice on him to the exclusion of all others, including Hillary Clinton, was MORE than ready for him to be President.

Are you using "ready" to mean "wanted" or "was willing," rather than "was prepared" or "was experienced"?

Because no way did he have the experience or the preparation.

Would he have gotten it if he were more seasoned in politics and kicked around for a few more years? Would that have made him a better President?

Well, he was sort of a stealth candidate. He was elected because he'd never had to make any really tough or important decisions.

If he'd been Governor of Illinois or Mayor of Chicago, he'd have gotten more experience, but he would have made enemies. He would have had to run on a record, and his performance and the stances he took might well have made him unelectable.

Was it affirmative action that made him President or Senator? I wouldn't necessarily go there. Some people voted for him because he was Black, just as many voted for Kennedy because he was a Catholic or Carter because he was a Southerner.

Call it ethnic solidarity or luck or the power of the Chicago machine. He got as far as he did by not being experienced.

Obama couldn’t lead any nation—he couldn’t even lead a Union. Even a Communist Nation needs leadership—he would have been eaten alive in Stalinist Government. leadership is more than just giving a good speech—it takes guts and he has none. Only the fact that America has become a nation of Whims is why he was elected and continues in office despite all of the rules he has broken and his hidden past. I believe when the truth comes out, he will be the dirtiest, most corrupt, president in history.

"It’s a classic case of a guy rising until he reaches his level of incompetence. Moving from community organizer to politician."

Actually not...
He was incompetent as a clerk in his 5-month private industry job, he was incompetent as a part-time professor, he was incompetent as a State Senator (I know, I lived through it in Illinois), he was incompetent s a US Senator. And he's incompetent as President.

Of course as ideologically extreme as he is, his incompetence is something which is embarrassing to our nation, but has a silver lining.

I can’t listen to the guy, but he seems to cast a spell over a number of people, so I was chalking his voice up as a positive attribute. Intelligence, wisdom, experience, reverence for God, courage, wit, humor, a personal touch, respect, humility, honor, ... those are all net negatives, so I thought I’d give him his voice tones ... I suppose he’s also in good shape. A lot of free time on his current job that allows him to workout - but I’ll give him credit for being a gym rat... Like I said, man-child.

Every time he says “folks” a little of me dies. That word out of him just makes me insane. Not sure why but it does.
People on here say he’s stupid or evil. I’m w the stupid camp. Have you ever heard one pithy political comment he’s made that will go down through the ages as something to chew over? I don’t know of one.
Every speech is a strawman argument. Every time he’s interrupted in a speech he retorts (too strong a word for what he does) as someone who doesn’t even believe in his own power as President. He sounds as though he’s pleading.
If I was running for President against him every other commercial would have him in front of 5th graders w teleprompters. I can think of nothing else that describes this lightweight to a tee. He’s just a figurehead and can’t even pull that off.
