Students at the west campus of Urban Prep Academy say they’re being targeted, chased and harassed by gangbangers as they walk to and from school.
Leaders of the college preparatory school and parents of students met Thursday night to discuss what can be done about the ongoing problem.

If not, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were somehow involved.
We have gangs that “get out the vote” here in Chicago.

I suggest having the students carry 18" barreled pump-action (or semi-auto)shotguns on tactical slings. They are stylish AND highly effective.

They aren’t NEA members, but they do get extra credit for their field work.
A couple of kids with German Shepards would be an effective deterrent. I strongly suspect this is a race-based issue with black attacks on whites?
The photo shown with the article suggests it’s black-on-black.
Or very possibly black-on-black violence because the prep school kids weren’t being “black” enough.
Not necessarily (black on white)...these could be “uppity” blacks trying to get an education....
The problem is that the Urban Prep students appear to be in that small demographic in that neighborhood who have no interest in being gangbangers.
The time is fast approaching in which some gangbangers’ heads need to be staked on pikes for all to see. They’re no better than the pirates of old.

That’s just it. They did the correct thing by asking for assistance, but growing up, one thing almost everyone learned is that just like life, you have to learn to defend yourself or people/kids will begin to walk all over you in later years.

I stand corrected.
In my view placing “heads on spikes” is the ONLY solution to many of the problems we face today. Litigation may make someone ... usually the lawyers ... rich but it doesn’t really address/remedy the root problem. Some problems simply will not go away without getting into it’s face and slapping it down ... literally

The Great Tragedy of black, urban America. We should all pray for those good kids.
I'm not sure what your comment means. The Urban prep kids are trying to better their lives through education. Are you suggesting that these kids don't deserve a safe environment in which to do the right thing? I would be happy if all the kids in the black community traded their sense of entitlement for schoolbooks and self reliance.
