He's a politician the same as most politicians

That he most assuredly is not, whatever his good points or bad points.

he's been around forever

Is that not that part of the point, that he has been steadfast over election cycles, hardly the same as most politicians? As I recall, Barack Obama was something new and fresh.

despite all the exposure he still can't get out of single digits.

Is not that really my point? He does not get out of single digits because he will not pander, he will not act the same as most politicians. The argument on his behalf is that the conservative movement after all these years is coming to him. In a sense he is being vindicated, although not in double digits yet, nevertheless, his libertarian perspective is gaining ground.

He's retiring this year I hope he enjoys his retirement.

Evidently there is a senator in Kentucky who sounds just like him that we will have to contend with.

McCain did not advocate a loopy, insanely dangerous foreign and defense policy that would completely alienate 75% of Republican primary voters

Yeah, he did.

He called it "regularization." Conservatives called it amnesty.

FUJM!!!

More proof that straw polls are an absolute waste of time, energy and money.

My guess is that part of McCain’s problem is that he is quite often irregular.

He will probably do better not having his fathers baggage!! Being steadfast is not always a good thing. Some of his views are just not good and he refuses to see that. And by the way most people say the same thing about their guy when they are accused of being a politician and Ron Paul is most assuredly a politician!! As far as the conservatives comming to him he is as usual in single digits it says something that people move in his direction and then get more support than he does. Maybe they moved in that direction on some things but not on all!

Ron Paul wins almost ever straw poll battle he engages in, then loses every war that matters.

Now you know cut and run would NEVER engage in a war. He will always surrender before a war could happen. He is a devout follower of his hero Nevile Chamberlain.

You’ll even find them spamming things that have nothing to do with politics. I encounteredsome of them on some page about computer games once.

20 year old skinhead gamers. What Klebold and Harris were going to be until they blew their brains out.

“Both of us voted for Obama in 2008,” said Monica Wattana, an emergency care doctor.

OMG. An ER MD who has voted for Obama and Paul. God help those patients.

Book learning but no common sense - out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Geek learning, most likely. They certainly haven't cracked any books on history, political science, policy, warfare or diplomacy.

There was a CA straw poll? I guess I missed the memo.

Just shows you how important the results of straw polls are.

"Now you know cut and run would NEVER engage in a war. He will always surrender before a war could happen. He is a devout follower of his hero Nevile Chamberlain."

Ron Paul has more financial support from the US active duty military than all the other Republican candidates combined. So do tell, do you think our US active duty military are "cut & run", too? Because I sure as hell don't!

Does this look like a "cut & run guy" to you? Yeah, I didn't think so!

So damn easy to be "a keyboard hero" when you aren't the one paying the price.

Ron Paul is bringing the youth to an otherwise dying Republican Party.

If this California straw poll should tell you anything, it is that a libertarian Republican is the only kind of Republican that can capture the energy and votes of the intellectuals and the youth that propelled Obama to victory in 2008. Even the other Republican candidates know this, which is why they are trying to sound like Ron Paul -- like Rick Perry criticizing the Federal Reserve and saying that "we need to bring the troops home from Afghanistan". Problem is that these other copycats are phonies, who are only saying these things because they discovered that they are popular. Ron Paul championed them based on principle when they were unpopular -- and that John D, is bravery, not cowardice. In this upside-down world, you seem to have forgotten the difference!

His libertarian viewpoint is a siren call to many. He’s an iconoclast, the establishment anti-establishmentarian. I appreciate many of his monetary views but he’s insane on foreign policy.

Ron Paul has more financial support from the US active duty military than all the other Republican candidates combined.

That myth has been debunked so many times it is not funny. What is funny is that some moonbats still believe that an anti-American like the surrender monkey would get the support of any military. I know from experience that there are a few in the military who do not support America, but not many.

If this California straw poll should tell you anything,

Straw poll, straw poll, that and Internet polls that cut and run's surrender monkeys can spam are the only polls he wins. Cut and run does not have a brave bone in his body. He would rather surrender any day that fight for our liberty.

Ignore Paul’s performance because we all know that’s totally bunk by Paultards supporters who are bussed in. What is interesting is to look at the rest of the field and how they performed.

Perry 29
Romney 8

That’s the real story.
