I’ve run across several of your posts in the past and have found your comments to be thoughtful and your opinions almost always in line with mine. Just thought I’d let you know that you’ve analyzed this issue very well. As a Texan, I know what kinds of complaints came up when Perry first brought this up, and the media blew it so far out of proportion, that almost everyone forgot what the truth was. I’m sure Bachmann makes sure her kids have all the required vaccinations or they wouldn’t be allowed in school. She’s politicized this to a degree that I wouldn’t vote for her, either.

I thought she had 5 children.

That's what I thought. Maybe she has 3 still at home. (?)

I don’t support Bachman for President, but this is a load of horse manure.

Perry imposed this extremely dangerous and harmfull requirement on innocent school children. It was a clear instance of crony capitalism, with numerous connections between him and the drug company. And he was furious when the legislature reversed it.

Maybe later he started saying that he was against it after he was for it, but that was only after the whole thing collapsed, and he probably had to pay back the money he got for imposing it. (No, I don’t know that last bit, but it fits the whole pattern of this crony insider deal.)

Perry is currently running as a brave conservative. But his record is that of an Establishment RINO. And that’s what he would be, once again, if he ever manages to get himself elected.

Well, whatever from Red State, the poster child for shooting themselves in the foot.. Bottom line, big government has to step in for the parents role to the kids.

Thank you.

Another FReeper commented that she came across like a trial lawyer. It made a lot of sense when I read that. Bachmann sounded like she was presenting her case to the jury, saying anything to win the case.

The thought occured to me that Bachmann has 3 of her own children and a whole slew of kids she supposedly raised as a foster Mom. Wonder how much money the state paid her for that...and how many employees she had to look after them. After all she and her lawyer hubby had a samll biz to look after...being tax lawyers. Wouldn't it be ironic if Ms. "Super Mom" was discovered to have not only not paid SS taxes but hired illegals to do the "Nanny" thing... Curious minds would like to know!

I agree with you as to Bachman. She demonstrated that she is a demagogue in skirts. Her words and demeanor last night indicated her willingness to use half truths in a desperate bid to remain as a viable candidate. Her behavior, verbal and nonverbal removed her as a serious contender. Good Bye Bachman-Ugh!

You support Perry. If you have any influence in his campaign tell him his stance on immigration must change if he is to get my vote. I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. Other than his immigration stance he did ok.

Bachmann making herself look desperate (not to mention, playing fast and loose on all the facts) was not worth trying to make Perry look bad ... AFTER his repeated, clear and public disavowals of previous views.

It is a judgment call on her character and personality that I think she should not have invited.

The Texas Department of Agriculture was still using typewriters in 1993? You’ve got to be kidding me.

It doesn’t matter. Gardasil is today’s hobby horse and they’re all gonna ride it till it dies of exhaustion. They don’t care to hear any of the reality.

She just told Hannity, in his book Perry left the impression old people won’t get their money. This is flatly false.

But today, in an interview with the Tribune, DePinho said that as a physician, as the president of a leading cancer research institution and as a father of two young girls, “there’s only one path here, which is to support vaccination.”

“To do anything else would be unethical,” DePinho said.

Nonsense.....just because some “physician” advocates it doesn’t make it right. There are physicians that advocate abortion and assisted suicide. This is an appeal to false authority.

Bottom line is that this vaccine should only be given to adult and informed young women. Bachman was right on this issue.

Also, Sarah Palin praised Bachman for pointing out the Crony Capitalism of Perry.

Perry abused his position as governor of his state. IF he will do it as a governor, he will do it as a President.

Now his screw up is not a total deal breaker for me. I would support him in a general election. However, he has lost any chance he had of getting my primary vote. I will vote for either Bachmann or Palin in the primary. Santorum or Cain would be my fallback.

No, sorry. That’s not an endorsement of hillarycare. There was no final product to evaluate at that time. Read more carefully.

DePinho heads the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and saves lives.

Bottom line is that this vaccine should only be given to adult and informed young women. Bachman was right on this issue.

You don't understand the disease, the vaccine or the best time to administer it. Bachmann is a demagogue who will do and say anything to win.
