Biden fired up at Ohio rally (Calls opponents 'BARBARIANS')

Vice President Joe Biden is known for his colorful rhetoric, and he didn’t disappoint a Labor Day crowd in Cincinnati. Noting Ohio labor members’ fight to overturn a new state law that clamps down on the organizing rights of public employees, Biden said of the stakes:

“This is a different kind of fight. This is a fight for the heart and soul of the labor movement. This is a fight for the existence of organized labor. You are the only ones who can stop the barbarians at the gate! That’s why they want you so bad.”

First, the fact that Obama and Biden use a national holiday to attack political opponents shows these people are classless, clueless and clownlike.

Second, if they want to throw down the gauntlet, fine -— BRING IT ON!

I’m sure that Biden, steeped in Marxist thought, recalls Morgan’s pre-Marxist classifaction of the growth of human kind: From Savagry to Barbarity to Civilization. Barbarians were basically illiterate savages who had joined in groups for protection — the perfect definition of Democrats. Civilization, on the other hand, provided a home to literate leaders able to think beyond the narrow clan to the greater good. Sorry Biden (and Hoffa), that perfectly defines the Tea Party.

When it comes time for the administration to negotiate on our behalf with the public employees’ unions, its always nice to know we’ve got someone like Biden or Obama representing our interests. (sarc)

Yeah, me too, and I think that it’s rather interesting that Biteme is warning a bunch of thugs to beware of barbarians.

In terms of their goals yes. In terms of their impacts, it is an enormous difference.

However if one wants to be stupid in this country and form a union under a private employer there’s no reason they should not be able to.

They only hurt themselves and one company in the private sector. All the rest of their fellow citizens are not on the hook paying for them. They only have themselves to blame when the company lays them off or goes bankrupt and the union contract dissolves.

Public unions screw all of us. Job security of public employees is far stronger than private.

There are huge, real differences.

Labor Day is a perfect way to celebrate unions--a mandatory day off. That's what unions are good at--not working.Unions of all kinds are the enemy of productive, talented people.

A government union is a double whammy, that's true. But that doesn't make private unions any better. They are vehicles for graft and politics, at the expense of the legimiately motivated and talented.

I hate ALL unions. Always have, always will.

A great comment I found. This comment states why Americans are drawn into the tea party principals:
Unknown said...

The threat to "take out" political opposition by Union Thugs and the endorsement of this call by both the President and the Vice President, more than anything that has happened in the last few years, has angered me to a degree that I cannot fully express. This is a direct assault on the Constitution, a document I have sworn to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic. This is a death threat made against Americans pursuing their natural rights.

I was not involved in Tea Party politics before, but I will be now. If that means union thugs will come after me, well, I am military trained to stand my ground and return heat.

Mr. Hoffa, Mr. Biden, Mr. President, you had best think twice about this. --- September 5, 2011 5:53 PM

It's not the union thugs that 'unknown' has to worry about.

It's the agents provocateur that have infiltrated the tea party that one has to understand are there.

He may be one himself...

Excellent point. Being an open, citizen's grassroots movement, we will be infiltrated. I thought about this at the last Tea Party Express event... when stopped by a Romneybot asking for a signature on my way to the truck afterwards... (hell, they let anybody in here - why not provocateurs).

Stay alert.

I’m actually quite flattered by “barbarian”.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if Joe can spell "barbarian".
