Federal prosecutors say they have discussed a possible plea deal for a Lebanese immigrant accused of placing a backpack he thought contained a bomb near Wrigley Field last year.

Gettleman is a federal judge on the United States District
Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Gettleman was nominated by President Bill Clinton on August 16, 1994, to a seat vacated by John F. Grady. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 7, 1994, and received his commission on October 11, 1994.
Gettleman has decided to take senior status, effective May 5, 2009.[3]

Who are you talking about?
In any case, I can’t see any reason this guy should get off. It wasn’t a real bomb, but he thought and hoped it was, and he thought and hoped he would kill as many innocent passing citizens as he could.
So why shouldn’t he go to jail for life? Personally, I think he should be dead, about yesterday or before.
The plea deal will involve a lifetime position with the Illinois Democrat Party.
