I have an increasingly bad feeling about this speech. He has hyped it up over his lengthy vacation and now given it a national stage that is even more hyped up by his failed attempt to stomp on the Republican debate. Add to that his plummeting poll numbers.

So he’s got to announce something BIG, and to do that I have no doubt he will cast the Constitution and Congress aside and unilaterally enact some giant government godzilla plan...like an Americorps on crack, where all of the nation’s unemployed become government employees overnight. Unemployment checks become paychecks with the stroke of a pen, and all of the unemployed report to government make-work centers filled with nonsense about “community” this and “green” that. The unemployment rate drops to almost nothing overnight, and Zero the Hero does victory laps until November 2012 or until all of the ratings agencies drop the U.S.A. to “pure junk” status.

Tell me I’m being paranoid, please...

What a rediculous statement Carney, if the President
addresses the American people, he IS addressing
Congress.

On the contrary, I think you're on to something. Putting all the unemployed on the government payroll would be a masterstroke.

He is going to announce the “infra-structure bank” and say that to start it we need QE3

I truly do not think you are that far out in left field (as in baseball, not liberal)when it comes to what bambi would like to do, or would like us to believe he could do.

That being said, bambi may forget that there are just so many straws that can be placed on a camels back.

The president cannot enact anything remotely close to this.

He has NO MONEY in which to fund it.

I wouldn’t count that out, since in the past he’s pushed for something very similar. It was to be as large and meaningful as the army, if I remember his talking points accurately enough. But what you’re forgetting is that so delusional is this president, so much does his gang believe in his oratory power, they think he can conquer nations with his words.

The usual pattern is to overcome expectations by lowering them. As such, it seems the hype means something special. But it doesn’t. It’s gonna be the same old crap. “Investment” in infrastructure, green jobs, education. A “balanced approach” of new taxes on the rich. Stern words for hoarders who are keeping capital idle. Isn’t America great; she’ll get over it. Energy of the youth. Spirit of innovation. Stimulus, stimulus, stimulus.

I could of course be wrong. Maybe we’ll get WPA II. Maybe it’ll be the United States Shovel Ready Work Forces (USSRWF). Maybe a VAT, who knows? I doubt it.

Maybe. They (the other side) all assume that people will just take it lying low, as most folks don’t want to run afoul with ‘law enforcement and regulatory agencies’. But somehow I doubt American citizens will permit outright un-Constitutional acts/things happenning.

Unless, the unrully civil conflict is their goal for some darker reason, then I am even more paranoid than you.....
