Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a commanding lead in the 2012 GOP presidential race, and that wont likely change if tea party favorite Sarah Palin decides to run, a new CNN/ORC International poll indicates....The poll’s data show that, for now, Mr. Perry is the clear favorite of tea party supporters. Ms. Palin won support from 10% of voters, leaving her in third place just ahead of Mrs. Bachmann.

Yeah, what was she thinking! She needed much more time to build up name recognition.

Only in your fevered brain is Sarah going to win any national election. She is damaged goods and cannot get elected nationally at this time.

She is going to run for the Senate to replace Kyl in Arizona. After 6 years in the Senate, she will be ready for her shot at the White House. Of course she will be facing Rubio and have to defeat him.

Actually there are going to be a lot of excuse makers around FR when the Palin campaign goes belly up (providing she runs, which I hope she does).

I can hear the excuses now:

“The MSM wouldn’t give her a chance to get her message out!”
“The RINO’s had it all FIXED!”
“Karl Rove pulled his strings to keep her out!”

Yes, excuses to blame everybody everybody except the voters who would support and favor a better candidate than Sarah Palin.

““Read:

“Sarah, don’t bother running. Pretty please?””

Why? I want to see RINO and Lefty heads explode!”

Umm...I’m pretty sure the original poster was being ironic - suggesting that this just another ploy by the leftist media to stop Palin from running.

I know, let’s have something called a primary and see what those poll results are.

No way. Polls are amazingly prescient 8 months from the primaries or 15 months from the election. Why look at how Rudy swept the field last time, Or how Hillary was going to be the dem nominee, or how Trump was the frontrunner a few months ago. Dukakis was unbeatable, Reagan couldn't win, Mc Cain was the only one who could beat Hillary. Get with the program dude (or dudette), it's all done, the votes are already cast.

It's obvious you don't know how good these polls can be..................../s

And the fact is, you’re only telling half the story. The other half is, with all that name recognition goes high national negative ratings. High negatives with low name recognition is not easy to overcome. High negatives with high name recognition is worse. It means most people have already made up their minds.

How does that play out in the primary, where her negatives will be obviously much, much lower than in the general election?

I’ll tell you how. They will lead to this question in the minds of many who love and adore Sarah: Is she the right candidate to put up against the Magic Negro?

That’s how. And that’s why she might continue to poll below Perry even if she declares her candidacy.

And knowing that (smart person that she is) might be the reason you don’t see her running right now at all.

I hope she stays out. We don’t need a nasty primary fight. Perry is going to get the nomination and no use muddying the waters like Huckabee did back in 2000 to sell books and get a TV gig.

Sarah has publicly announced that she is NOT going to run for the AZ Senate seat. No how, no way, not going to happen.

She has also stated publicly that there is no one in the current field she could support in the primary.

The difference is that Palin is far better known nationally than most would-be candidates, and STILL fails to break 40 - 42% vs. Obama.

Did she really?
I'm not doubting you, I just had not heard that.

Agreed. IMO, she's in and will announce when it's to her best advantage. Her outside date is the end of Sept which will be here soon.

A lot of us would like to see that. I don’t recall her saying that at all.
