As a candidate, Neumann would be expected to have the backing of the Club for Growth, a soul mate with his anti-deficit agenda, and many grassroots conservatives disappointed in the 70-year-old Thompson for appearing at the White House two years ago as part of the Obama administration’s call for health care reform.

It's hard seeing Thompson rallying much Tea Party support.

Bout time some of these stupid states wake up and see what the socialist dimocrats and the izzlumics are doing to this nation. Wise up or die. That simple.

We must get Kohl’s seat! It looks doable.

It sure is doable. Who they going to use? Doyle? Tammy Baldwin? Norquist? We have at least 3 or 4 names that can win it, and they have none.

Tommy Thompson is a lousy establishment RINO. It’s too bad if that’s the best they can do.

You just have to wonder what has to happen for these turd kicking farmers to get the idea that the RATs are responsible for their misery. I mean just how many times do they give the RATs the opportunity to try the same unworkable schemes only to have them fail. You would think that by now it would not be even 60/40, but no it’s still nearly 50/50. Go figure!

The one thing Tommy has going for him is, he’s well-enough liked that he could win. It would be statesman-like of him if he were to play king-maker instead, but Tommy likes the limelight.

It would sure be fun to watch the unions and the other collectivists spend another few hundred million in Wisconsin elections and lose it all.

I assume you're not bashing what you call "turd kicking farmers" with your mouth full.

Or ever looked at how Wisconsin voted last fall - electing Gov. Scott Walker and kicking Russ Feingold to the curb?

Didn't think so...

I think the state Dem crazies are gonna want to go ahead withe the recall attempt, but they won’t get any support, or $$$..from national pary and big Labor. It will cause a lot of tension.

Ruling class RINOs are remarkably tone deaf. We'll probably have to settle for them in places like Massachusetts with a Scott Brown, but I hope Olympia Snowe gets a primary challenger from the right. The Tea Party had excellent results in Maine in 2010.

“after $40 million spent on both sides” . . . er, no. More likely $39 million spent by Dems and $1m spent by Republicans.

How did last weeks recall elections work out in Wisconsin? I haven't heard a word in the news.

Tommy NO, NO, NO!I truly believe that he just plays with “running” to keep his campaign coffers open. I think it is a scam.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Tammy Baldwin is the frontrunner now that Feingold has decided not to run. She can’t win against anyone imo. She’s openly gay - and she’s in your face about it - and as liberal as you can get.

Why run Thompson who will probably stay for one term for a little bit of more personal glory when we can run a conservative who could hold the seat for many, many years?

This should be a lesson for Republicans at the Federal level — if you stand on principle and do what you were elected to do, voters will reward you.
