Prosecutors File Motion to Drop DSK Charges
NBC NEW YORK ^ | Monday, Aug 22, 2011 | Jonathan Dienst and Shimon Prokupecz

Prosecutors have filed a motion to dismiss charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who was believed to be a top French presidential contender until he was accused of sexually assaulting a Manhattan hotel maid.

The development comes more than three months after the former head of the International Monetary Fund was arrested, and more than seven weeks after a judge released him from house arrest as investigators admitted they had discovered significant problems with the credibility of the maid.

The accuser, who came forward late last month and identified herself as Nafissatou Diallo, met with prosecutors briefly Monday as the motion was filed. Her attorney, Ken Thompson, has said she was not treated fairly and that the DA bungled the case.

Thompson said after the motion was filed that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. has "turned his back" on the accuser and the evidence.

Strauss-Kahn's lawyers, William Taylor and Benjamin Brafman, said in a statement that their client and his family "are grateful that the district attorney's office took our concerns seriously and concluded on its own that this case cannot proceed further."

Strauss-Kahn is due in court on Tuesday, where a judge is expected to officially grant the prosecution's request and dismiss the case. There was no immediate comment from the DA.

A documented liar and prostitute doesn’t make a good witness.

And she was awarded "Liar of the Year".

I listened carefully while she was speaking...in the interview and to the press...she's like a chameleon...from the Little unknowing French maid to the professional illegal immigrant....$100,000 in the bank, cheats on her income tax, lied on her immigration application...I'm wondering if she stole someone's identity, too.

She didn't know who he was?? In a FRENCH hotel where the help speaks French??

Cyrus Vance Jr, the NY DA has mishandled this case from day one. The leaks from his office are unconscionable, his treatment of the victim disgraceful.
DSK is a serial sexual predator, with a long record of abuse against women. There is a case of attempted rape against his then 22 year old goddaughter, Tristane Banon waiting for him when he returns to France. He assaulted the daughter and her mother!
Ms. Diallo may not be the perfect witness, but she was a victim of this “rutting chimpanzee”, known in France by his nickname, “the great seducer”
She will have her day in court in a civil trial, and all Anne Sinclair’s billions cannot protect her devoted husband from the revelations that trial will bring.

Stay informed  about the DSK case and French elections in detail.

That doesn’t mean she wasn’t assaulted. Not the perfect witness, but from the medical, DNA reports, and DSK previous similar pattern of conduct, I believe he attacked her.

The Socialist Party is still waiting and debating whether to let DSK run in the Primary to be their candidate for President against Sarko in 2012.  They should now call themselves the SOCIALUST PARTY!

Everyone in France, certainly everyone in the Socialist Party, was not surprised when this happened. DSK has done this many times before, and surely he will do it again.

"Free as a bird, guilty as sin"

Not necessarily guilty of this. I just hope the scuzzball is forced to retire and loses his license to molest.

Oh, he’s a horrible, disgusting, revolting POS, no question there. But in this case, I don’t think it’s been established that she was a ‘victim’ by a long shot. She’s as much a con artist as he, just lower social standing.

Let him go back to France and stay there. Au revoir, Dominique.

Well there you go. Anybody that would do such a thing surely could not have been raped.

And God knows DSK never did anything economically untoward in his very honest life.

Used to be common before you had to provide a SSN with each child.

there is a french journalist who is suing him civily now for a past attack. The guy is scum, he no doubt attacked her.

I still think we did the right thing by being on her side till the case was un prosecutable. In france, nothing would have happened...I hope they are proud of how they handle these things. At least we TRY to defend victims.

funny how quiet NOW was through all this, and the race baiters were quiet too.

I think they established pretty thoroughly that the maid was not a credible witness.
They need to nail him for a REAL crime, not for one he didn’t commit.

How in the world can you know he "no doubt" attacked her?

yesss....Socialist, communist guilty of many crimes against freedom....but this particular crime????

Most likely dirty tricks as this commie turd was running for French President...Machiavellian to say the least

Hagen: You don't have to remember — just do as I say. We're putting a call into your office — explain that you'll be there tomorrow afternoon — you decided to spend the night at Michael Corleone's house in Tahoe — as his guest.

Geary: I do remember that she was laughing...we'd done it before — and I know that I couldn't’ve hurt — that girl.

Hagen: This girl has no family — nobody knows that she worked here. It'll be as if she never existed. All that's left is our friendship

Irrespective of this particular defendant, the system needs reform. People's lives are routinely ruined over accusations of misconduct. Grand Jury proceedings are a farce, arrest warrants are easily obtained, searches and seizures routinely violate citizens' rights, accused individuals are paraded before the cameras, the presumption of guilt is frequently reversed as cases are tried in the press, people are bankrupted attempting to defend themselves, the government never apologizes for their mistakes, and worst of all, innocent people are sometimes sent to prison.

...and more thing. A lot of this takes place to the cheers of my fellow conservatives who have a mystifying trust of law enforcement and the criminal justice process despite a fervent disbelief of everything else the government does, and who seem to have inestimable regard for the individual liberties of the Second Amendment, but little for the 4th, 5th, 6th or 8th to name a few.

It's another Mission Accomplished. DSK was up for head of IMF, with this in the news he did not get it, and instead one of the Chicago Mafia got it.

And that’s what it was about, wasn’t it,
and not about politically correct “justice”
for an oppressed 3rd world female worker,
misandrous femnazi opinions to the contrary.

His history of attacking women.
The woman’s physical injuries-documented
The rape exam- documented
the DNA-documented.

I understand this woman is hardly a stellar person, hardly at all..but we should prosecute cases of rape if there was sufficent evidence initially.
