Liberals complain about Obama's choices (the rookie Hussein's summer of discontent)

Liberals complain about Obama's choices

WASHINGTON -- Liberals argue that he caved on the debt ceiling. Unions are upset over his handling of unemployment and labor issues. Hispanics brought the immigration debate directly to his campaign doorstep.

President Barack Obama's summer of discontent has been marked by rumblings within his Democratic political base over his willingness to fight congressional Republicans and his approach to fixing the economy.

Liberals disappointed with Obama for compromising with the GOP during the debt-ceiling showdown now are calling on him to hold firm against Republicans this fall. They want him to push a bold jobs agenda while drawing a strong line on taxes and protecting Medicare and Social Security.

In recent weeks, the gripes have become so loud that the president himself acknowledged them during his Midwest bus tour this week.

"I've got a whole bunch of responsibilities, which means I have to make choices sometimes that are unattractive and I know will be bad for me politically and I know will get supporters of mine disappointed," Obama said in Iowa. He claimed progress on the economy, health care and two wars. And, offering his backers a bit of tough love, he added: "Sometimes you've got to make choices in order to do what's best for the country at that particular moment, and that's what I've tried to do."

The complaints -- founded or not -- are narrowing the tightrope Obama must walk over the next year to keep his base energized while recapturing the independent voters who helped power his win over John McCain in 2008.

“The principle feature of American liberalism is sanctimoniousness. By loudly denouncing all bad things — war and hunger and date rape — liberals testify to their own terrific goodness. More important, they promote themselves to membership in a self-selecting elite of those who care deeply about such things. It’s a kind of natural aristocracy, and the wonderful thing about this aristocracy is that you don’t have to be brave, smart, strong or even lucky to join it, you just have to be liberal.”

Yep; they complain, but, they’ll crawl over broken glass the first Tuesday of November 2012 to get to the polls to vote for him.

He's probaby been getting a lot of "tough love" from China lately, so that may be part of the reason for the "Share the Misery" tour.

Obama will make them happy again when he comes out with his “jobs” program, which will simply be class warfare on steroids. The “rich” are the cause of all our problems and raising taxes on them will make everything better. And the idiots on the left believe that.

Unfortunately for them it will cause a real and dramatic decline to the economy killing even more jobs.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Spot on no dems!

I AGREE WITH THAT

A nanny state is not sustainable.

Barack 'Jackwagon' Obama only hears the voice of those committed to his Marxist vision.

The White House thinks unemployment insurance benefits create jobs. "There are few other ways that can directly put money into the economy than applying unemployment insurance," Jay Carney said (Wednesday, August 10, 2011).

Rep. Pelosi thinks Zer0 is saving the world by borrowing or printing money. On Thursday, July 28, 2011, she said: 'What we're trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget... we're trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.'

The libs' cure for their mess is always more liberalism -- which includes aborting one baby every 95 seconds.

Obama's stimulus put unions ahead of a healthy economy. He placated the unions and torpedoed the private sector.

The government is growing at 8 percent per year, with numerious unelected czars and departments working to do Zer0's bidding -- writing regulation after regulation.

VOTE-OBAMA-1sm
  Barack's working hard for the nation
  And he needs another vacation
  Some golf would be nice
  And the pie he'll have twice
  As we endure
  This reeking Obamanation

Countdown until Obama leaves Office: 518 days as of August 20, 2011.

Means little. Come campaign time, the thugs will stir up the hate and the peons will fall dutifully in line.

According to this article, people want Obama to be more partisan and divisive, and according to polls mentioned elsewhere tonight, people want more compromise in Washington.

What a joke. Obama, like so many pols, will fret over which poll to follow, and dither and whine and complain.

A leader would say “These are my core beliefs, and I was elected to live by them, and that’s what I’ll do, and let the chips fall where they may.”

Of course, Obama ran saying he would end divisiveness, listen to the opposition, and bring the world together.

Sucks when you have no spine.

The complaints of the far left the leaders of the Obama train hope make Obama look good to the independents. They think that the complaints of the far left cause the independents to think that Obama is in the middle. They think that they know that the lefties will vote for Obama against a Republican no matter what so they therefore don't worry too much about making them happy. They probably highlight their complaining to use to their advantage.

Liberals complain because they’re not getting the free stuff they expected.

They’re worried ‘bout payin’ their mortgage, and ‘bout puttin’ gas in their car. They’ve helped him, but he ain’t helpin’ them.

Obama:"I've got a whole bunch of responsibilities"

Sophisticated, he ain't. If the CEO of even a small corporation were so childish and inarticulate, he would be canned.

Here is the thing though. In the end he will cave into them by fiat. By the time elections roll around they will all have gotten what they want one way or another.

Liberals are full of self-righteousness and self-righteousness is just a phony form of respectability.

Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious
wreaths;

Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings;
Our dreadful marches to deliglitful measures.
Grim-visag'd war hath smooth’d his wrinkled
front;

Hopefuly 2012.
