The agency, blaming higher grain prices and a difficult economy, expects broiler meat production in the second-half of 2011 to fall below last year's level and also anticipates broiler meat production to slow down in 2012. So the government wastes $40 million in taxpayer money to prop up chicken prices which suffered higher prices due to the government propping up the corn/ethanol industry.
